Made a mistake and purchased a SANNCE unit first. The SANNCE worked as a DVR, but I had trouble with connecting it to my phone, which is just as important to me as the DVR recording. The Zosi also had network difficulties. Not only does this Annke device work with my existing cameras it easily connected to the mobile app. Additionally the software seems better overall. The user experience with their software is much better, the camera images actually appear more clearly and crisp than any of the other lower end Amazon DVRs I have tried. I guess the main lesson I learned is don't simply look at Amazon reviews. Dig one step deeper and look at the reviews of the mobile apps on the Google Play Store or Apple's App Store. If the mobile functionality is important to you, the mobile software is just as important as the firmware on the actual DVR.

Bought this as a birthday present for my stepdad because he gave up on trying so many different DVRs or camera recording devices. Most never recorded or converted videos correctly, or their settings could not be changed. This one is by far the most stable and feature-rich. Even their apps are amazing despite their bad reviews on google app store. I would suggest buying a multi-terabyte HDD for this though. If set to HD recording for motion detection only on at least 10 cameras, a 1 TB HDD will fill up in about a month. Unfortunately, it has no way to automatically delete old videos or overwrite them. You literally will have to manually reformat the HDD again. Another thing you might run into is camera thumbnails dissappearing randomly. Seems like a bug. It can be fixed in General settings section though. Recording quality can be set higher than 1080p, but if your camera is of a different brand it will look a bit like SD quality. The company recommends buying their brand of cameras for that reason.

I bought a DVR that is only a DV. There is no recording device. The old device was broken and I am using this one to produce the video. That is does very well. The instruction show how to install a disk drive and someday I may try that.

The software has been improved since previous models. The Dvr was super easy to connect to the cameras and to my phone. The motion alerts were a bit much at first, but once I adjusted some things it got better. The quality and reliability are still unknown. My previous models only lasted about 2- 4 years, but mainly a lightning issue.

I purchased the ANNKE security camera system in November 2024, and unfortunately it completely stopped working after about six months. The cameras suddenly blanked out and have not worked since, which defeats the purpose of having a “security” system in the first place. To make matters worse, because the failure happened after the return window closed, I can’t return it or get my money back — so I’m now out more than $300 for a system that’s totally useless. For something this important, I expected far better reliability and support. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product. If you’re looking for a dependable security system, i’d suggest looking elsewhere.

So far so good. My only complaint is the hookups on the back. Why can’t they make them easier to plug in. My fingers are so sore from that. But the system is working good it took me sometime to get it going. My husband still complaining but he not great with computer stuff. I used you tube to help me hook it up. Good price too just the dvr.
