New to archery, took 2 beginner classes before buying my first bow. Was overwhelmed with the amount of bow designs, materials, sizes, strings, arrows, etc. 65 yo male 6’4” 230, 31” draw. Knew I wanted recurve for target archery, no hunting planned. Watched many videos and read tons and decided best for me to go low investment with best quality. Decided on this Sanlida Noble X8 70” 36#. After a month of shooting a few times a week I am super satisfied with this bow and kit. Yes it’s basic but the bow is of high quality, looks and feels great and shoots well as far as I know for a beginner. Wish the standard arrows were 32” for the bow size and my 31” draw but the 30” were ok until I purchased longer. The quiver is basic but works well for the beginner. Haven’t used the sight yet. 3 weeks in the string loop wrap frayed off, I emailed Sanlina customer service (at [email protected]) photos of string and Amazon receipts on a Sunday, received reply on Monday with followup on Tuesday and by Thursday received two free replacement strings = great customer service! Overall I’m super satisfied with this Sanlida kit and customer service. Second successful contact with customer service a few months later 8/1/24: question about brace height for my 70” 36# Sanlida Noble…quick reply was “typically 8.75”-9.5” “. I set it at 9” by twisting the string a few times and is working well.

My neighbor, who is an experienced archer, bought two of these archery kits to use with his children. He insisted that I try them and shoot with him. I was so impressed with the quality and the complete package that I soon ordered my own. I read everything on Sanlida's website regarding sizing the right bow length and draw weight according to there charts. I ordered and received my 68" 36lb bow and realized that the draw weight was more than I could handle for more than half an hour, especially with shoulder, arm and wrist injuries. I decided to keep 36lb set then ordered a second 68" 24lb bow, that I am using and loving now. Perhaps I can use the 36lb bow when my injuries subside. I had some technical questions that I emailed Sanlida and was delightfully surprised at the prompt and courteous replies from Evelyn who addressed all my inquiries. The rest of the kit is complete and more than adequate for any intermediate archer or someone returning to the sport after a long hiatus. I registered both bows with the confidence that the folks at Sanlida care about their products and reputation. I highly recommend this package even if an experienced archer wants to add a great value bow to their stable at a great price.

UPDATE: Sanlids reaches south and replaced the arrows with ones of appropriate length Original Review: The bow itself is great, but the arrows are useless. I have a 30 inch draw, which calls for a 68 or 70 inch bow, but the 70 inch bow comes with the same length arrows as all others, and I cannot use them as the arrows are only 29ish inches, not the 32 inches I need. I would expect the bigger sizes to have longer arrows. Also, the 30 lb bow at a 30 in draw measured at 35 lbs, as the 30 lb is rated at 28 inches. The tab is terrible, but the bow itself seems well made and shoots well.
