The molded metal formfactor means that it's easy to add to your keychain and always have it handy; since the hole is in the metal body of the drive itself that means no tiny metal ring or plastic tab to break off. As long as you don't loose your keys, you're pretty much guaranteed that the flashdrive is still with them. Speed is pretty decent, with a caveat: it gets *really* slow when you have more than one copy job writing to the drive at the same time, it will take literally 10+ times longer to finish than if you copy them as two separate batches one after the other. The metal body of the drive also gets pretty hot when in use, but so far I haven't seen any reliability issues.

Ya, read speed is fast, but nobody really cares about that. Write speed is slow, but I think that's really just based on usb 3.2; usb 3.0 is almost unusable for large writes. As the tech gets better write speeds will increase. It gets hot, but still works, and cools down quickly. For now, this is about as good as you can get.

Wow! I didnt realize it was a metal case. This drive is beautiful. I noticed it is a little too tight in the USB-a slot. I really had to press it in...this almost lost it a star. But then I put some 800 GB of videos onto the drive and it took less than an hour to transfer. And it was attached to my M4 Mac Mini via a dock, so an hour is probably slower than it would have been if connected directly. Im just so impressed!

The issue of it being difficult to insert into the devices I've used it with is a bit of a detractors, but I'm careful as to not force it and damage anything.

2021 tesla model x. Purchased used, no storage for sentry cam. I tried multiple ssd 1tb. And even 1tb SanDisk usb thumb drive. Well this one formatted and started working immediately. No hooking up to laptop. Just install, format and begin using. 256gb seems to be the max. This thumb drive is perfect. And the price is way less than Tesla 128gb. Wish I started with this one. Besides myself with happiness.

Great drive. Transfers are fast

The first one of these 512 GB SanDisk Ultra Luxe USB 3.2 Gen 1 flash drives, supporting read speeds up to 400 MB/sec, wiped out all my video files the first time that I plugged it in to my Samsung TV's USB port. When I plugged it back into my laptop, it was recognized but I was prompted that it needed to be formatted. I tried the usual Windows tricks to retrieve my files, but to no avail. So, I formatted it again, added some more video files and tried it in my TV. This time, my TV kept recognizing it then dropping it & again, when I plugged it back into my laptop, all files were gone. So, I returned it and held off on giving it a bad review until I could try out the replacement. After receiving the new one, I first gave it a full format, noting that it got very hot in the process. Then, I filled it about half way up with video files and plugged it into the USB slot of my mid level Samsung TV. I was frankly blown away by how fast all the files were recognized & loaded, however, when I clicked the first 1 to view it, everything went away, even including the only USB port on my TV! I tried restarting my TV, but the USB port was not recognized. I even tried hard booting it by unplugging it for 60 sec, to no avail, nor did resetting the TV to it's factory defaults. So, this stupidly fast flash drive actually seems to have burned out my TV's USB port! When I next tired the flash drive in my laptop, you guessed it - I was prompted by Windows that it needed to be formatted. needless to say, I'm now returning the 2nd one and won't be buying anymore SanDisk flash drives in quite a while!

Perfect quality and good speed of data transfer. However, it doesn’t provide the actual usable capacity. I purchased the 512GB but it gives only 460GB.

This thing is tiny. I had no idea how small it was until I held it in my hand. Looks good and does what itis meant to. Also, it is very fast.
