This one works.
Good absorbency. One pad lasts longer than the smaller sizes.

Great for older dogs too!
My girl is 10 years old and we live in an apartment. She's very good about holding it until I get home but there are times she just can't wait, so I started using the smaller, cheaper pads but I ended up doubling them up. These X-Large Pads are so much better, soak up more, I don't seem to smell the urine as much and I just roll them up and put them in the garbage. I highly recommend for older dogs as well as puppies!

As Advertised, with Minimal Leakage
Usage case: Elderly house cat, six pads surrounding a litter box.Frequency of changing pads: Usually about three soiled per day, and replaced.Rated as 4/5 stars because the product works as expected, but does occasionally leak. Urine does not run off the sides, but does sometimes seep through the bottoms (typically only where a particular spot has been peed on multiple times). Odor does seem to be reduced (relative to urine on the unprotected floor) as advertised, but not eliminated (which should be expected). This product seems to be one of (if not the) lowest-priced listing (per pad) available, and works just as well as other products of the same kind.

DANGEROUS with double the SLIP ๐ฌ๐ฌ
I can appreciate how leak proof these are, but not their rate of how fast they soak up the pee (absorbtion ability) or how the plastic bottoms have no anti skid traction to the bottoms of each pad. I bought the X-Large 34X28 size for my Elderly (14.5 year old) 17lb. Parson Russell Terrier and one of his pees alone spreads out to take up about 1/3 of that mat size. For traction I put these paper mats on rubbery shelf liners on the floor to keep them from sliding around on the tile floor (pretty sure they would also slide around if on carpet too since the bottom are like blue garbage bag plastic). I think even if the corners were taped down (without the shelf liners "fully covering every spot under the pee pads" they would still slide around and bunch up after every step on them). Even with the rubbery shelf liners under the pee pads, the pads have caused my elderly dog to fall. This is because there is a lot of gel inside the pad (between the paper top and plastic bottom) and yes it prevents leakage but as soon as my dog stops peeing and steps forward, he steps into the partly absorbed pee puddle and his foot gets wet then the gel makes his foot slide violently as if he stepped on butter. He then flops sideways onto the hard floor. I also spilled some water on them and almost fell too when I stepped on it and the gel made my foot slide a lot (that's also why I described the slip effect like butter....I experienced it). So no I am not impressed with these mats (also my dog can't feel them much under his feet since they are so thin and he isn't sure if he's peeing on them or not (he's peed to the side of them before). I am sticking with "White" cloth reusable and washable pee pads now (fingers crossed his urine color shows up on them). I've also learned my lesson from them as well (any other color other than "white" (still haven't tried the white color but know for a fact other colors don't work) will not show up the dried pee color on them (you won't know if your dog peed on it since it dries quickly and the Black Light I got for the colored cloth pee pads doesn't show the pee spots on up on the cloth). I also learned (from the other cloth brand I've gotten) not to even put his cloth pee pads in a dryer to dry on low (it says it's safe, but after a 2 times in the dryer 'at different times"....it is no longer leak proof). If anyone's interested I finally have settled on buying "GREEN LIFESTYLE Washable Pee Pads": They have good rating, are white with black bones (hopefully good at showing up pee on the white), have anti slip backing, and I plan to air dry them and never put them in a dryer. If they are like my other cloth brand ones they will smell after one day, so I would need to wash them at the end of the day (I found only soaking cloth pads in "Laundry Pet Enzyme soap" for like an hour or two (following the instructions on the back of soap bag) before washing them works. The soap I use is by "Active" called "Active Pet Laundry Detergent" look up why "Enzymes" need to be in pet laundry detergents to fully get the odor out. I also bought the WHITE IMPROVIA pee proof bed blankets for my dogs bed (the green ones did not show any discoloration or sign they'd been peed on especially since they dry fast before I get home from work).... Hopefully these white ones show signs of when he pees on them (I also only air dry them/the green ones I've used and they are great at not leaking i find). Hopefully this saves someone some money and headaches/hoops I've gone through to figure this out :).
