Being the first recoil pad I have ever had, I am unschooled so I still don't know which side goes out and which belongs next to the shoulder! But I was immediately impressed with the size and thickness. Right away, I got the new shirt out to see if this pad would actually fit in the shoulder pocket. It does very nicely and snugly, so there is no slippage. Feels really good, too. I can also see that it is high quality and well made. I am eager to get to the range and try it out.

Great for 75-year-old problem shoulders and sporting clays. I sometimes shoot ambidextrously, so one on each shoulder does the trick.

I used this shoulder pad in the lining of my shooting vest on a day where I shot 100 sporting clays targets with many different presentations. It protected my shoulder from the slight bruises I had experienced before, no red marks at all. I shoot light-target loads or equivalent in a 9 pound over-under, so it might not provide adequate protection from heavy field loads, but I would recommend to shoot an automatic for that. This pad also appears to be very durable design.

I have a history with tee shirts and long sleeve shirts with appropriate pocket for rifle shooting and these are a new version of an old favorite.

This recoil pad is functionally and practically excellent for most use. I have tested the pad with respect to two long guns. One is a rifle that is at the current high end of recoil given current civilian rifles in use in 2025. Civilian rifles include hunting and sport rifles and for tactical rifles that are versions of rifles that are in current or projected use for military applications. The other rifle is a civilian version of recent tactical rifles that currently fall into the generic AR-15 category. The pad provides excellent recoil protection generally. It fits very nicely into my shooting vest pocket. The pad is light weight and it is comfortable to use. When tested using the rifle that is at the high end of recoil the pad does not achieve the protection I would hope for. In summary, this pad is a very good acquisition in all of the important categories when using a long gun that is not at the very high end of recoil.

Serves the purpose and I don’t feel the recoil anymore.

This pad is a perfect fit in my Browning vest. I have not shot with it yet, but it is quite thin, so it should not have much effect on length of pull. The texture feels like it should absorb recoil well.
