Review: A clear, 5-STAR guide to confident, compelling speaking - As someone whoโs delivered hundreds of speeches, Iโm picky about โpublic speakingโ books. Most either drown you in theory or skip the basics that actually move the needle. The Eloquent Mindset does the opposite as it lays out the fundamentals of great delivery in a practical, step-by-step way, with a strong emphasis on turning stage fright into presence and learning how to speak with clarity, confidence, and influence. What I appreciated most is the authorโs focus on fundamentals a reader can use to separate weak speeches to commanding a room. It has always been my believe that I need to intermingle story telling in delivery that resonates, with engaging presentations. The author does a great job of showing students and readers how to build the kind of confidence that makes speaking feel empowering instead of stressful. In addition to the speaking fundamentals, the author shows how these skills can be applied in the broader context of life tools. He references some of the greats in delivering the message, like JFK, Ghandi and Churchill If you want a straightforward guide that reinforces the core mechanics of effective speaking without hype, this is a 5-star add to your toolkit. Review: Good refresher - Fairly basic and common sense advice, however, it is always good to read those books as a refresher โof the knownโ to bring these things to our awareness again. I enjoyed the quick read. Overall 4/5.

Practical, Encouraging, and Easy to Apply
This is a well structured and approachable book for anyone who wants to become more comfortable and effective speaking in front of others. What I appreciated most is that it does not rely on hype or vague motivation. The advice is clear, practical, and grounded in real communication principles that can actually be used. The book does a good job of breaking down stage fright and nervousness in a way that feels realistic rather than dismissive. Instead of telling you to simply โbe confident,โ it explains why anxiety shows up and what to do about it. The sections on structuring speeches and holding audience attention were especially useful, even for someone who already has some experience speaking publicly. Another strength is the focus on authenticity. The author emphasizes developing your own voice rather than copying a specific speaking style, which makes the guidance feel adaptable to different personalities and situations. This applies equally well to formal presentations, meetings, and everyday communication. Overall, this is a solid and helpful book for beginners and intermediate speakers alike. It delivers practical insight without overcomplicating the topic, and it feels written to genuinely help the reader improve rather than to impress. A worthwhile read if public speaking or communication confidence is something you want to strengthen.

Finding profundity through simplicity
Having given many presentations, speeches, and training sessions throughout my life, I was interested in how accurate this book is, plus what further insights I might learn from it. Iโm pleased to say it is clear, well-written, well-organized, and gives practical insights for those uneasy with public oratory. I was particularly impressed with the sections dealing with the following topics: how to sync with oneโs audience; how persuasive speaking rests on the pillar of active listening; the significant power of having compelling visual aids; necessary preparation for success; the magic of the mirror exercise; deriving sophistication from simplicity; the best focus of conversational structure; how to best overcome the โfight or flightโ reaction; clear rules to having great conversations; when questions are better than sermons; how to focus on the needs of the audience; broadcasting willingness to learn more and better; and learning from simple farmers. This is a deep book whose wisdom is easily accessible, laying out the real principles and techniques for effective public communication. Highly recommended!

Actionable and well-organized tips
I read this looking for tips to improve my speaking skills. It was full of practical and actionable tips organized into clear chapters and I found the chapter on ten useful ways of talking to anyone very helpful though much of the book covers public speaking advice. All of the chapters are well organized, end with bullet point conclusion sections, and the book even comes with a bonus chapter from another of the author's works. It was a worthwhile read.

A Helpful Starter for New Speakers
The Eloquent Mindset is a solid read for people who want to build more confidence in public speaking and everyday communication. What I appreciated most is how simply the author presents the basics. In the storytelling sections, he comes back to a useful idea: know your audience first, then shape the story around what they care about. He also encourages speakers to use a clear beginning, middle, and end, add emotional detail, and leave the listener with a takeaway they can remember. That is familiar advice, but it is presented in a practical, encouraging way. I also liked the bookโs emphasis on simple self-review, like practicing in front of a mirror and getting honest feedback on pauses, pitch, and gestures. I did not see a strong teen-specific focus in the main text. To me, it reads more like a general beginnerโs guide with the most value for newer speakers.

Made presentations less scary
I found this book really helpful and overcoming my nervousness when speaking in front of groups at work. The Practical exercises gave me specific techniques to practice rather than just telling me to be confident like other public speaking books. I especially appreciated the section on storytelling that showed me how to structure my presentation to keep the audience engaged instead of just listing or facts and information.

Helped Me Feel Way More Confident Speaking
This book surprised me in a good way. It is not just about standing in front of a crowd and talking. It digs into how communication shapes everyday life, from conversations to bigger moments where your voice really matters. What stood out most to me is how usable everything feels. Instead of staying theoretical, it walks through real situations and gives you ways to handle them. If you struggle with nerves, organizing your thoughts, or just getting your point across clearly, there is a lot here you can actually try right away. I also liked how it focuses on mindset just as much as technique. It is not only about what to say, but how to think, how to carry yourself, and how to connect with people in a genuine way. That part made it feel more personal and less like a checklist. The sections on storytelling and building confidence were especially helpful. They show how to keep people engaged and how to move past fear without making it feel overwhelming. It builds gradually, which makes it approachable even if you are starting from zero. Overall, this is a solid read if you want to improve how you express yourself, whether that is in public speaking or everyday conversations. It is straightforward, encouraging, and easy to follow, with ideas you can actually use. Definitely a 5 star read for anyone wanting to feel more confident and clear when they speak.
