The beads are 7mm Approx 1/4 Inch. My kids make them. Buy one! **Q: For only handguns or also rifles? I am left-eyed but right-handed, plus older so seeing sight and target at same time meh.** A: The front sight Focus String is used for handguns and rifles. Sight Alignment and Sight Picture doesn't change, the principle remains the same on a handgun or rifle. The only difference is your front sight is farther away on a rifle but this doesn't change your Sight Alignment or Sight Picture. Sight Alignment is when you are looking through your rear sight at your front sight with the front sight placed directly in the center of your two rear sight post, dots ( or whatever rear sight configuration you have) and your front and rear sights are even across the top of the sights. The rear sight will be blurry and the front sight will be absolutely clear to your eye, this is proper Sight Alignment. When you add a Target in front of your front sight with proper Sight Alignment it becomes Sight Picture. When you have proper Sight Alignment and Sight Picture your rear sight will be blurry, your Front Sight will be clear to your eye and your Target will be blurry. The Target is just an object in front of your Front Sight. Your clear Focus remains on your Front Sight (Not your Target) The Eye can only Focus on one object at a time clearly and on a Firearm the clear object must be your front sight. When you have proper Sight Alignment, Sight Picture, Grip, Trigger Squeeze or Press (whatever you want to call it) you will hit your Target every single time. The Sight Focus String is an excellent tool for training your Eye(s) to Focus on the Front Sight. It means that without healthy feet and/or legs, it doesn't matter how tuned up your bad pony is. She can't motor on bad feet and legs so you'll never get there from here. Well, it doesn't matter whether you're shooting a Kimber or Hi-Point, if you can't properly see you'll never hit what you're aiming at, and even if you are getting decent hits there is room for improvement. As a shooter, you're an eye athlete before anything else. Wheelchair? No problem. Bad hips or knees or back? That can be worked around. Vision problems? Problem. This tool can help. Take your time, play with it. I set my first bead about six inches from my nose. The second bead is the distance to my carbine front sight (I'm using a fairly short sight radius weapon). My next is just a few inches further and represents distance to my handgun sight. Yes, it's further than my front sight on my carbine. Weird, I know. I didn't expect that either. The rest I space equidistant with the furthest being an inch or so from the end. I then focus on the nearest, then next, then next, until I reach the end. Chris Sajnog has a nine minute video on youtube that tells you the basics. I developed what I think of as interval exercises. After simply working back and forth. I then go first to second to first to third to first to fourth to first to fifth and so on until I reach the last. Then I work backwards with the furthest as my home base. I then work it from the second to first to third to second to fourth to second to fifth to second, etc.. I use each bead as the home, working back and forth. While my vision hasn't become perfect, my ability to quickly focus to the point I CAN has become better. I am now moving to his advanced focus string.
