I have two of these, made of silicone. I bake my bread at 450 degrees and have no trouble with these at all - had them for a couple months, used two times a week or so. They absolutely make it easier to maneuver the dough into the dutch oven and to lift the bread safely out of the dutch oven when done baking. It is safer and it is very helpful for clean up of the dutch oven as well.
