Excellent compact quiet unit.
I ordered this unit as a "maintaining" heater for my indoor pool. I use a propane heater to quickly get the pool to temp and then this one takes over to maintain temp. I received the unit and it had an issue with the transformer on the mother board which received a few too many G's in shipping. I contacted Fibro Pool and they sent a replacement right away via FedEx. I installed it and the heat pump is working perfectly! Great customer service and a nice compact easy to install system! I plan to install a blower in the unit and use it as an auxiliary A/C unit in the summer to help cool cool my home. Well worth the investment!

Can't beat the price. Does heat. Disappointing large dead band though.
Can't beat the price for a heat pump heater. Self installed easily, though I am an Electrical Engineer. Come with lots of plumbing adapters, though I had some on hand for Intex hoses that ended up being cleaner than what came with heater. Draws about 1kw running. Noticed the temperature swings were fairly large (3-4 degrees) and that the unit would not start back up till temperature fell 3 degrees below the setpoint. Verified with their customer service that it is operating as intended for units with reversing valves (can heat or cool). Wish that deadband was adjustable for those that don't need cooling. I think i can cheat this though by putting the pool pump on a timer set to start up several hours before our typical swim times each day, so the still water in the heater before that cools off and falls below the deadband.

CHECK FOR PROPER WATER LIINE CONNECTIONS
I agonized over buying this a year ago, not being sure I could trust such a reasonably priced pool heater. I went ahead and pulled the trigger though and a week later it was installed. There was a glitch with the main board but they sent a new one out and all was well. Worked great all summer! This year without realizing it, I had the water lines backward which caused the flow sensor to not power up the compressor.I e-mailed customer service and was answered the very next day buy a very nice fellow name of Yavuz Yavuzer. He quickly helped my figure out what I'd done wrong and the heater took right off. Thanks Yavuz!I now know I bought the right piece of equipment from the right people. If you need a pool heater and you have an above ground pool in the 18ft diameter range get this unit, you will not be disappointed!

Updated: Energy Hog POS that doesn't heat the water well enough to be effective...
This thing uses $100 per month of energy to use and it doesn't heat the pool. If you put your hand at the outlet, sure it feels a little warmer than the surrounding water, but it simply isn't effective enough to make a difference. My pool is only 2500 gallons and I live in California. I ran it at night when power is cheaper and when it cools off in hopes that it would at least keep the water as warm as it was during the day in the heat but it doesn't even maintain, let alone actually heat it up.For reference, I am a licensed electrical contractor and have been in construction 25+ years and installed the heater myself. I am 100% certain it is hooked up correctly.Avoid this like the plague! Here's the email I sent to them. All I want to know is what they recommend for use. Like how many hours a day it should run, etc. If they at least try to help me I will raise my rating. Until then AVOID THIS PRODUCT!!!Hello,The FH 220 heater doesn't seem to want to heat my pool. Will you please tell me what I may be doing wrong? Or what I need to do to make it work better? Here are some facts:My pool is 2800 gallons above ground.I live in climate zone 9b (Benicia CA) with a mean temperature of 69 degrees.I have a solar cover.I have a 2-HP 2-speed pump I run on low speed for 12 hours a day from 10am to 10pm.The heater is in-line between the pump and the clorinator.I have the heater set at the maximum temperature (90+) and the water will not rise above 65 degrees.I have the heater electrical per spec as I am an electrical contractor and have my own company. That is all I can think of that should help you to help me. $1000 is an incredible amount of money to spend on something that appears to not be functioning as advertised...Thank you,
K**.
great heater
Heat pump work way better then I expected. I have 16ft round pool above ground in Chicago installation was easy make sure You put it in open space where it have enough access to fresh air preferred is sunny location. I Start it 2 days ago pool was 56f after 2 days water is 76f. Outside now is 56f night and during day it was 74 today. Heat pump it don't take to much energy end it looks like it heats pool great I will wait till pool will go to 82f and will post some pictures. for now for price it was great buy. Heat pump is small size its not loud. One of problems people might have is condensation in Chicago is humid so water was constantly dripping there is hose connector under unit so You can install hose. Small update after couple days I use solar cover and outside was around 64 day and around 54 at night my pool is about 81 night and 82 during day. So it took couple of days to worm it up but then its just keeping temp steady so its not working so hard like in first couple days

No help with Tech Support
First unit arrived DOA, second unit arrived and works. With the first unit, tech support took over two weeks to give me any answers. So I returned and purchased another. I heard this unit is very efficient, so I wanted to give them a second chance.
