Despite the size, I like it very much. But would like a smaller version too!
3 year update: My Secura stopped working some weeks ago. I was very sad b/c it had served me very well and I even decorated it with a Porco Rosso sticker on the front some years ago. By stopped working, I mean the dispenser stopped dispensing soap no matter how many times I put my hand under the sensor. I ordered a replacement immediately and I noticed a difference: At absolute minimum setting the new Secura pumped out a lot more soap than what I was used to with my old one. With my old one, I can turn the dial to about a quarter of the way and it still dispensed a lot less soap than the new one. Unfortunately after about two weeks the new Secura finished all the soap. I remember I didn't replace the soap as soon as two weeks with my old one. At minimum it took a few months. The issue with my old Secura was that probably water had been trapped on the sensor and over time it developed rust on the transparent portion of the sensor which I later learned to be the IR emitter. This rust then creeped inside and ate the anode pin of the IR emitter eventually causing a disconnect. As a result my old Secura didn't dispense soap b/c the sensor was effectively broken. What was strange though was the blue LED would flash every so often. Before I discovered the rust problem, I was just confused what the flashing blue LED meant. Now I know it means the sensor is broken. So now I was determined to open up my old Secura and replace the IR emitter. I liked my old Secura dispensing a smaller amount of soap than the new Secura which required replacing the soap every two weeks. Here's how I took it apart: There are screws at the bottom. After removing the bottom panel, there is another set of screws to remove the bottom piece holding on to the motor. To make things easy to remove, I unsoldered the wires from the motor. Remember the yellow wire goes to the pin on the motor with the red dot. Now the back piece that houses the battery compartment can be slid down a bit to reveal two screws at the top securing the top chrome piece. Before removing the top chrome piece, there is a screw to remove right by the sensors. Now the top chrome piece can be easily removed to reveal the circuit board. The board is held down by two screws. Now the board can be adjusted up a bit to reveal the IR emitter and IR sensor. I managed to unsolder the broken IR emitter and also clean the board area when the emitter connected b/c it was a bit of a rust farm. I didn't know what type of IR emitter my Secura used. I just picked 940mm IR emitter b/c that seemed to be the usual thing used for a sensor application. I soldered a new one in, put everything back together including re-soldering the wires to the correct pins on the motor: yellow wire to pin with red dot. My old Secura is back in business! To help prevent water and rust forming again and attacking the sensors, I applied transparent tape over them. It still works! The new Secura is decommissioned for now. It dispenses too much soap even at minimum setting. --- I revived a Simplehuman automatic soap dispenser for a family member used at her business. It has been in use for about a year without any issues. Ever since I fixed* it I have always wanted one for myself but felt the footprint design was too big for my bathroom sink. Sorry for starting out with a competing product, but I wanted to explain how I wound up with Secura instead. After some research, I decided on Secura. I chose it because I liked the cylindrical window design to see the amount of soap and thought it would be a small enough unit that would fit in my limited bathroom sink area. I was also convinced by the reviewer that compared it with a competing product that looked exactly the same except the spout was different. The reviewer pointed out that the other product had leakage issues at the spout. And that other product has a tapered spout whereas the Secura has what appears to be no spout. It is just a little flat "nub" sticking out. So I thought the type of spout made a difference. However since I haven't had any issues with Simplehuman's dispenser which has tapered spout I was confused. I decided to put my money towards that comparison review. To my surprise, when my dispenser arrived I noticed it has a tapered spout! I immediately thought, "Wow, I could have gotten the similar looking product instead." I also confirmed my dispenser has the "Secura" name stamped to make sure I wasn't mistakenly sent the other product. I can only assume, or hope, the company is making changes to improve the product. Another surprise was that the product was bigger than I thought. I didn't check the product measurements so that's on me. I wanted a smaller product because of my limited bathroom sink area. Despite these surprises, I still wanted to try it out. I poured in an entire bottle of Seventh Generation Natural Hand Wash Hibiscus and Cardamom scent 12 oz. The soap is slightly watery but it still came out of the dispenser fine. I set the adjustment wheel to about medium. When dispensing soap, I leave my hand there until everything comes out. There is no soap leakage afterwards. The instructions says on first use to activate the sensor several times in order to get the soap running through the tubes. I made the mistake of setting the adjustment wheel to the lowest setting and nothing was coming out. Finally I dialed up maximum and after the second or third swipe soap was coming out. I like this product but I wish Secura would also make a slightly smaller unit. If possible maybe about 10-20% shorter. It would also be nice if the cylinder diameter can be smaller, again about 10-20%. Since this dispenser is too large to rest on my bathroom sink area, I had to place it elsewhere. I decided to put it up against the wall. I used two sets of Command Large Picture Hanging Strips. These things work like Velcro except it's stronger. I didn't want to drill a hole in the wall so these Command strips were perfect for the job. I'm including pictures of my dispenser showing the tapered spout and the size comparison of the dispenser with a 12-inch ruler along with my limited bathroom sink rest area. I'm also including a slo-mo video of the dispenser in action. *For those interested about what I did to fix the Simplehuman soap dispenser ... First I apologize that I don't recall everything but I generally remember the main issue was that the dispenser got dirty inside and prevented it from working. One area was the battery compartment. There was soap residue and battery acid over the battery contacts thereby preventing connections with the batteries. I had to sticks, both wooden and metal, along with tissue paper to get all the gunk out and clean out the battery contacts. Another area was circuit board. It was also dirty and prevented the buttons from working. I remember carefully taking it apart to examine and clean everything. But back to the battery compartment, I didn't like that it was on the bottom. Naturally to replace batteries, I would flip the dispenser upside down. But the problem with that is Simplehuman didn't design a leak-proof cap. So that means soap would leak all over, which I suspect caused the dirtiness problem and the dispenser not working in the first place. So having learned my lesson, the next time I opened the battery compartment door, I held up the dispenser and opened it from the bottom. Now the problem with that is gravity is still working against me and the batteries would drop immediately causing loud noises. So I like that Secura has the battery compartment at the side. I don't have to flip or hold up the dispenser. I just let it stand as usual on a flat surface, hold down the top, unscrew the two screws and open the battery door.

This Is a Great Unit
I was looking around for something like this and I finally found what I was looking for. This is a quality unit. For one thing, it looks beautiful compared to the other units (brands) that I saw. You can actually see how much soap is in the dispenser and you easily fill it from the top without removing it as it has a wide hole. I have had this for almost a month now without issue. I also bought one for the kitchen. A beautiful blue light lights up when it is activated. It always dispenses the same amount of soap. It has a sensor so it does not have to be touched in any way while dispensing soap. I am using soft soap antibacterial. No problem so far. I do keep it mostly filled up for pressure reasons. It has not failed me once, (either unit). I am very happy with the inset on the back which allows me to hang it safely on a wall with a nail or screw. It is very sturdy that way as you can see in the picture. It can also be easily placed directly on a flat surface but because I do not have a lot of room, I decided to hang it on the wall so I do not knock it over. It will blink red when it is time to exchange the batteries. So far I have not needed to exchange the batteries and I am using simple Amazon batteries that are not alkaline. I will see in the future if that needs to be changed to alkaline. These units work and they are very beautiful. Some of these kinds of units are pretty ugly and a person cannot always see how much soap is in there without opening it up. Not true of these units. They are tall and slender, but not too slender. Tops come in different colors, but I chose something that was shiny metal as I think it looks better. Some people in the reviews have mentioned that they would prefer a charging unit over batteries. Since I have not needed to replace the batteries in a month, I'm not sure that that statement is true. In order to charge it I would have to remove it for several hours as opposed to simply changing the batteries every six months as most reviews say. The only negative side that I see to this unit would be that the battery cover has two screws. Now I'm not telling people to follow my advice but I simply did not screw in the screws very far so they would be very easy to take out. I am not recommending this, but this is something I know that will work for me as the battery covers are not close to the water because I have them hanging above the same way in both the kitchen and the bathroom. Normally I prefer things the charge up, but I'm not so sure that it would matter with this kind of unit. So if you're looking for something that is very beautiful but also works perfectly, I highly recommend this unit. I do really like that the front of unit lights up blue when dispensing the soap. Very pretty in the day and at night. I actually sent pictures to my family it looks so nice.

Works Great, looks nice. Top notch customer support!
I ordered this after my quite old touchless dispenser went defunct. I researched a while before settling on this one. I received it quickly and began putting batteries in to make sure it worked before filling it with liquid soap. When I tried opening the battery compartment, I found it to be quite difficult to remove. I further found that the gasket inside the compartment had a portion of it glued to the compartment cover. I carefully pulled the cover away, which unseated the gasket further. I replaced it the best I could, but this also made replacing the cover quite difficult after I put in batteries and tried seating the cover back on correctly. I did manage to get it on. Nonetheless, I contacted the customer support via the insert link on a piece of paper that came in the box. The link takes you to a Facebook Messenger page and lets you comment. I reported the problem. Customer service was quick to respond (after the automated responses). The company promptly sent a replacement product and followed up to ensure that I got it and all was okay with it. This works quite well. I hung it on my wall to make room on my small sink. There is no template for hanging it, so I just taped a wide piece of masking tape to the back, marked the hole, removed the tape and placed it on the wall where I wanted to hang it, and used that for a template. There is no dripping after it dispenses the soap. Filling it is easy and access is gained by removing the cap on the top of the dispenser. The amount dispensed is easily adjusted with the same switch that turns the unit on. It holds a really decent amount of soap. Changing the batteries will be a little bit of a hassle, but only because it takes a Phillips head screwdriver. I understand the need for the secured cover since some people might set this dispenser on the edge of the sink and it could accidentally be knocked over into water. Water might also be splashed onto it. The compartment is in the back but keeping water out of it saves from corrosion on the batteries. I gave it 5 stars because I am pleased with it and because the customer support was spot on!

Good for a while
I definitely loved this product at first, worked perfect, love I didn’t have to touch it or pump it. Unfortunately it did stop working after a while, definitely did not last a full year, I thought it was clogged up with the soap or something, but was never able to get it to pour soap again.

It's so responsive, it's a rascal, it gets you when you least expect it!
We have had this soap dispenser since February of 2024, we want to share how happy we are with this appliance even now that we have had this dispenser for nearly three years. I have only replaced the batteries twice and it shows the level of the soap so you know when to refill. The reason I waited until now to leave a review is because, after talking to my husband, we realized that it was a rascal. Every time you pass your hand under it and don't realize it, it gets you! I have learned never to have a salad or any other food I am planning to serve near it. If you think this is a bad review, it is not because I love that it is responsive to a quick dab of soap to keep our hands clean. Just get ready for a rascal!!

Will Stop Working After Few Months - No Value Guaranteed.
This is one of the worst products that I bought on Amazon. I usually don't leave reviews and have never left a bad one, but this is just outrageous. The first time I bought this, it seemed to work well, so I went ahead and ordered another five so they would be in each bathroom of my house. As well as also purchasing a few to gift to others when I got complements. Fast forward to just a few months, they all slowly start to break. Not all at the same time, of course, it just started with a lack of function on one. I changed the batteries, contacted support, did whatever I could but to no avail. Then the rest all started to break with no way to fix them. I've tried to even order new ones and the last two have literally arrived completely broken (not working, even with multiple battery switches, troubleshooting, etc.). It's just that they work fine for a few months and then totally crap out. Well guess what ... I only went this far since I thought, with so many great reviews, that it must be quality, maybe a few lemons here and there. But nope ... Quality has gone even further downhill where new variants simply don't even work out of the box. Now I'm left with a house full of useless dispensers (and when you have dirty hands and go to the sink only to discover that there's no soap, well, it's no fun at all) plus all the friends I gave them to who are embarrassed to let me know that my gift quite literally didn't work. Zero stars for quality, terrible value, not only a waste of money but an enormous waste of my time, energy, and money. I wish I never bought anything from this company.

It's PERFECT! (so much better than my old one)
I'll start off this review by saying I had one of those cheap-looking bronze-colored ones for a couple years. The thing pretty much sucked and was terrible, but unfortunately, those seemed to be the only consumer level automatic soap dispensers available at the time and the last time I checked. I'm SO GLAD someone finally saw the market here and produced an actually capable and outstanding design! The old one was smaller and held far less soap (maybe 1/4 or 1/5 of this one's capacity) and used AAA batteries. It ate through batteries pretty fast. It had really bad internals that couldn't at all work with soap that wasn't super thin and eventually got clogged with even thin soap and towards the end of my usage, I had to water down my soap before I eventually said screw it. It had a terribly inefficient controls for power and soap output amount, using two buttons that were unmarked and I could never remember how to change the level because it gave no feedback whatsoever so you had to do trial and error, wasting a bunch of soap in the process. Ugh. It also intermittently had an issue a few times where I'd hear it just dispensing soap every so often on its own at night when the lights were out... Good riddance to that thing and enter my soap savior...! Now for the actual review of this phenomenal product: It's just so much better in every way! It holds a LOT of soap! And since the container is a big window, you have no questions or doubts about when you need to refill it! As a bonus, you can use a specific color soap to go with your bathroom theme or holiday theme if you like to decorate that way. It uses four batteries which means it'll definitely last longer than AAA's (which physically hold less power due to the size). I can't yet speak for the battery use efficiency/longevity. The control for power and dispensing amount is clear and easy to use. A simple analog dial lets you fine-tune it and get EXACTLY how much soap you want from each use. Seriously, you can be very precise. The detection window is perfect. It only detects objects about an inch or two down from the spout. This is great at avoiding accidental activation when you wipe down your counter or nearby sink area or just happen to swing your hand underneath it for whatever reason. The old bronze one was just bad at this. The silver and black colors are neutral and are a better one-size-fits-most option to match most bathrooms or kitchen sink areas more easily (compared to bronze which would only matcha sink that happens to be the exact or very similar shade). I use this for my bathroom and the plastichrome finish definitely goes better with my chrome faucet and other chrome-colored organizers and things on my counter. So, for me, this is an extra win. My only minor complaint is the "SECURA" branding on the top which is not shown in any of the product photos. I would prefer a clean unbranded device, but at least it is very subtle and not so noticeable. Given all the other stellar aspects of the device, I can completely overlook this. But do be aware if you're very picky about that. Since this is a generic/private-labeled product, you could probably find one that has no branding if you look around more. Regardless, I am very very happy with this dispenser right now and definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for one!

Great Product
This dispenser is really great... I bought a soap dispenser similar to this one previously but the design of this one is much better. I like that the top twists off to fill...so easy, and it's tall with clean lines. My other dispenser has a lift up top (not removable) and doesn't lift completely up so it's difficult to maneuver and fill. ***It is now 8 months later and is still going strong...Love this dispenser...Thx ****It is now 3 years later and it stopped working...but the light still flickers, so I am hopeful it will start again. Even though this dispenser stopped working I would say it's a great product...3 years is a long time!

Lasted the longest
Bought 3 different dispensers in one day. The sleekest design (white, Japanese brand) never worked a day and was thrown out. The ducky (China brand) was wonderful while it lasted -- 3 months. The 1st 2 mentioned were chargeable, whereas my 3rd (this one) is battery-run, and the most plain-looking. Yet it out-lasted its "superiors" that cost more and looked better. Someone could make a moral of a story out of this.
