Sourdough Silicone Bread Sling for Dutch Oven, 2 Pack

I love sour dough bread. I’m new to baking bread, and I recently began generating a robust sour dough starter. I’m having success to a degree I did not expect. The hungry raving fans of my sour dough bread have made this a passion. My spouse recommended trying the Koolstuffs Silicone Bread Sling for Dutch Ovens because it might solve a couple of the challenges baking bread in a Dutch Oven. It turned out to be the best decision. It’s unbelievably easy to lift the finished bread out of the Dutch Oven using the sling. The Dutch Oven stays remarkably clean, perhaps needing only a wipe after use. I also found that the bread crust using the non-stick silicone sling somehow improves the bottom crust of the bread—at least to my liking, crisp, but not burnt. I’m now a raving fan. It’s a good purchase.

My sister-in-law doesn't like these but I love them. They work well with both regular sourdough and GF sourdough. 3 of us make the bread and none of use felt these are difficult to use. I hate using (and reusing) parchment paper.

These make transferring the dough into and boule out of a hot dutch oven an absolute cinch, with no burnt fingers or distorted boules. The trick to keeping the boule pretty is to keep a lot of lateral tension on the ears while transferring the dough in. And cleanup is super easy.

It works! Perfect for sourdough. It holds up to baking bread at a super hot temperature frequently. It’s worth the money compared to parchment paper that you have to keep buying. I haven’t had the product for long but so far there has been no stains and the color has stayed the same on the mats. If stuff does get in there it’s super easy to wipe off. The mat holds the bread well when putting it into the Dutch oven and when it’s done. I don’t have to worry about it sliding off.

These bread slings are a MUST for making sourdough bread easier! I have two of these, made of silicone. I bake my bread at 450 degrees and have no trouble with these at all - had them for a couple months, used two times a week or so. They absolutely make it easier to maneuver the dough into the dutch oven and to lift the bread safely out of the dutch oven when done baking. It is safer and it is very helpful for clean up of the dutch oven as well. I like to bake with berry inclusions, so I also add parchment paper over my sling for fastest clean up.

Despite this concern, the silicone bread sling does offer good value and functionality, making it a worthwhile investment for avid bakers who are looking for an easier way to handle bread dough. Just keep the temperature limitation in mind to ensure a safe and successful baking experience. This fits most Dutch ovens.

If you're like me and you are using parchment paper for your bread, just buy these. They are SO helpful, and reusable. They make the breadmaking process so much easier. Especially when I discovered that SOME parchment paper (like the stuff I bought at Winco) sticks to my bread in the oven - what a nightmare! I love these silicon bread slings. They're really easy to clean and I think they even give me a better bake on the bottom crust of my bread. Just buy them. They'll save you $$ on that costco pack of parchment paper.

It was helpful to put the baking dough in a deep Hot pot. Only size was a little extre which I snipped and used.

Very useful. I bake sourdough bread in dutch oven once a month. No issues with them at all. Good value for money .

As a person who has limited coordination with hands, I found this product extremely useful in taking out hot bread without getting burnt. I didn’t need to hold heavy Dutch oven and tip out bread . Simply put Dutch oven on stove top. Lift out bread using side flaps. Very easy.
