This stuff works! Immediately cleaned up my pool!!! 10/10!!!!!

We were gone for two weeks and came back to a pool that was green and brown. After trying the usual products that didn’t work, we thought we were going to have to drain the pool. My husband was in Home Depot and saw this product and thought he would give it a try. By the next day the pool was crystal clear! We were amazed. It happened again when we were away and as soon as we used it the pool cleared up. I liked the product so much I ordered some for my cousin because her pool was in the same situation. This is a fantastic product for a very inexpensive price.

No copper in this algaecide however there is a slight odor post application and a little foaming. The product attacks algae which turns grey and sinks to the bottom of the pool requiring a vacuum. Would advise to clean your filter post vacuuming.

I was struggling with a light algae bloom for several weeks. Shocked my pool and it still didn't get rid of the algae. Shocked again a couple weeks later and followed up the next day with Pool Mate algaecide and the algae was almost completely gone within 24 hours.The pool did have a stronger chlorine like smell for a couple of days, but it wasn't a big deal and didn't linger too long. I chose this brand as the price was very reasonable, and it said that it controlled most types of algae. Some of the other algaecides only listed green algae. Overall, a great product, glad I purchased the 2 pack.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Read as though it would do what it claims -- cost was at a price point, one would think so. Didn't do a thing against black algae starting in my pool at directed quantity, then days later, with the entire bottle! The now discontunbiued HTH black algae killer worked great, but the new HTH does work on BLACK algae, only the green/yellow. Back this goes! Waste of time & $$$. Even prepped with a LOT of stone gringing ahead & after treatments.

To be fair the algae was all removed overnight so I have no complaints with that feature. The problem is the masses of foam trapped in the residue of this product. The ionizer in the pool has never caused this problem before but the normally transient bubbles it generates aren't going away and it has been 15 days and counting since it was treated. They do go away if the ionizer is off but that isn't a solution so I have a defoamer coming. I should have read the reviews instead of just liking the star rating. Live and learn.
