Your Canon T5 comes with an instruction booklet and more documentation on CDs. That's enough to get you started, but if you really want to take full advantage of your T5, you must buy this book. Trust me, it's money well spent! I discovered my T5 had far more sophisticated features than I realized. This book not only takes you through the mechanics of using these features, it also explains how to get the best exposures for myriad situations. The format is easy-to-read; the writing clear and concise. I was "just OK" with my Canon T5 until I read this book. Now, I'm thrilled with it because it does so much more than what I thought after reading Canon's documentation that came with the camera. Even you're happy just shooting on Auto or using the presets on the camera, this book is offers helpful tips on how to get the best shot possible. If you want to take control of your T5 and take full advantage of everything it has to offer, you NEED this book! PLEASE NOTE: I also bought the Kindle version so I would have the information handy for reference on my phone and tablet. I found the Kindle version to be not as user friendly as I'd hoped and for the expensive price, I would not recommend it.

I didn't doubt that this would be of good help. I tell you, the Dummy guides to anything are the absolute best! I have already started applying the information in the book to operate my new camera. By the way I absolutely have NO experience, what so ever with these sorts of cameras. Of the past some odd years, I have been just simply using my iphone. Now, it is time for me to work on a few projects and I needed to upgrade from the phone. This book is so detailed and easy to navigate through, as no one truly reads it from cover to cover, but rather, jump around to what is needed at that time! I highly recommend this book for beginners and as a refresher for seasoned users. I have no stake in this company. I am really a customer! Thank you Amazon for the pricing too!

Very helpful

I bought the Kindle version first and I could determine from that, that the book was worth purchasing but it seems most reference books are just not easy to read on a tablet, Kindle, etc. On one page they describe the menu buttons which are shown on another page so it's easier to see that in the physical book format rather than in the Kindle format. Amazon kindly refunded my money so I could purchase the hard copy. I now have the physical book and I highly recommend it. It covers how to get the most out of your camera, not only the basics, but how to use the settings to get a better photo. It's an easy read and not too thick.

Great book for learning about the Rebel T5. I have some expirience with photography and the advanced settings available with the camera. My wife, well she is a "point and shoot" kinda gal. This book was a tremendous help for her to learn about the wonderful world of photography and to "refresh" my memory from days long ago. (Pentax 35mm to give you an idea). The chapters, pictures, and descriptions are thoughtful, and well laid out so so it is easy to follow along. Definitely recommend to anyone and everyone that has one of these types of cameras, regardless of their ability.

This book is fantastic. Anyone that has a Canon Rebel 1200D needs one of these. DSLR's can be extremely complicated. Other than the basic point and shoot you really need to learn how to use certain features if you want to make the most of your camera. This book takes you step by step, feature by feature and tells you how to do everything. You can read it front to back or you can do what I do and reference it when you have a question. I'd probably forget the entire thing if I tried to read it front to back.

While I'm not rank novice nor a professional when it comes to photography, this book has been a very good companion and has taught me many things I didn't know. The writing style is very good. I highly recommend it to the novice. You'll learn a lot and be entertained while learning. Can't ask for more than that!

The book is broken into sections that you don't have to follow chronologicaly. You have options of covering the basics or more in depth now or come back to review the highlights. Each chapter (section) is set up so you can start using your camera immediately. Additional details will lead to professional photographer if you have the ambition.

good training manual and great reference

Makes a daunting and complicated new camera a little easier to understand. You still need a little knowledge however and you cannot beat hands on or advice from a knowledgeable other, but a great reference tool.

I was delighted when I received the camera, but the book made it much more informative to get to understand the complications of a new camera, I would recommend this product to anyone who has purchased a new camera.
