One of the cheap Chinese dual band hand held transceivers that have been flooding the amateur radio market across the world. Loads of features accessed by various button presses and knob turn combinations, so not the easiest device to master, but essentially simple if you just need to dial in a frequency and transmit and receive. Cheap construction means that these devices may not always quite meet the stringent rules regarding harmonic suppression and out of band emissions. That said, they work well enough and reports of interference are rare. For a newly licensed ham, this is a cheap and cheerful way to get on the air until you can afford to upgrade to better equipment. The computer programming lead is invaluable in getting things set up the way you want them. Fantastic value for money and easy to see why these have been flying off the shelves, but please use sensibly and be aware of their limitations and licence requirements. You do need an amateur radio licence to legally operate these handheld radios.

Amazing radio scanner for the cost, I listen to airband AM and able to talk to a repeater that is 9 miles away from indoor

My son has a similar walkie-talkie so we tuned them both into the same channels. Very easy to operate with the buttons and display on the front. We wanted this for when we go on hiking trips, primarily we love climbing hills out in the countryside and trying to use a mobile there is almost impossible with little or no signal. Last weekend we decided to go test this out even with poor weather and the reception worked perfectly. We weren't that far apart, but we weren't visible to each other. Audio quality is superb with no background noise. It also has FM stations so you can tune into your favourite band when out and about too. I must admit that I'm no expert on these but I do know these are packed with a lot of functions, more that what I've been able to work out and make use of. It also has an LED light that can be kept of static or flashing too. It's certainly a professional product as it comes with a charging dock and a programming cable, something I will be looking to explore in the coming months. This is one I'd recommend if you are looking for a good walkie-talkie to use outdoors, even if this has more than you'd use, it's better to future proof.
