Just as I'd hoped--effective & convenient
Update: I'm back after using this product for about 2 months to purchase some more For an upcoming trip. I just noticed that many of the negative reviews are mentioning texture or flavor. Just wanted to say this is a functional gum, where you can get the benefits of a reflux remedy in a very easy to carry form. Yes the flavor doesn't last a long time ( which I find to be the case with most gums anyway) and if you chew it cold it can be a bit crumbly. I warm it up for a minute or so in my hand sometimes, but I honestly don't mind the temporary crumbly texture. It comes together really quickly and it does its job as an alginate. That's what I'm after! I really like the gel and hoped this product would be effective as well. It is! Easy to have in my purse or pocket when I need it in a pinch. I got the tropical flavor and it's tasty.

Pregnancy saver
Helped me greatly during my 9-10 months of pregnancy and during the delivery time at the hospital. Since it’s sugar free it didn’t make you thirsty to drink water after chewing. Helps with heartburn without giving a sugar rush. Recommend for late pregnancy and birthing time.

Hard as a rock and taste bad
I’m not sure if the box I got was stale, but they were hard as a rock and almost broke my teeth to chew it and tasted horrible I still tried to chew it just so I can get the medicine to me, but even after the gum softened up a little bit, it was so hard to chew I had to spread it out. I will be returning these.

Convenient to use.
The taste is good, but it isn't very soft to chew. Better to get the flavor out, leave in your mouth, and chew sporadically.

It works, but is too stiff and expensive for me
I’m writing this review while experiencing some of my post-meal LRPD symptoms. I’m chewing the Tropical Soothe flavor gum for the second time. We’ll see by the end of the review if it helped! First off, the pieces are huge. They’re more cough drop size than average chewing gum size. The pack has three blister sheets with ten pieces each. Between the size of the gum and the blister sheets, I’d rate the portability of this gum as 1/5 compared to standard gum. It’s just not something you’d throw in your pocket, and there’s no way to take a single piece like you can with most other gums. The first few chews were filled with tropical flavor, and I was daydreaming of drinking an adult beverage on a sunny beach in Mexico. Unfortunately, the flavor didn’t last long. It quickly became chalky and then faded to the base, mostly tasteless gum, within the first 2-4 minutes. I suspect the outer layer of the gum (including the flavoring) is the alginate, which is meant to dissolve quickly. While the inner part is just a natural chewing gum. I don’t know that for sure, but that’s my guess. The inner chewing gum is more on the tough side, which seems typical for more natural gums. I’d rate this as a 4/5 on the official (not actually official) gum stiffness scale, with 1 being the most chewy and 5 being the most stiff. At this point in the review, I have noticed that my symptoms have mostly subsided, so that’s encouraging. However, I think the standard Reflux Gourmet teaspoon would have resolved my symptoms more completely. Overall, I’d rate this gum 3/5. I factored in the portability, flavor, stiffness, and also importantly, the price. It was neat to try, and I’m happy to see Reflux Gourmet continuing to innovate, but I don’t think I’ll buy it again. It’s just too expensive, bulky, stiff, and flavorless after a few minutes. I’ll stick with the full alginate tube or the travel packs, as well as my favorite chewing gum, in the future. If Reflux Gourmet makes a version 2, I’ll definitely check it out, though! I’m a long-time happy customer and am willing to take chances on any of their future products.

Effective for my LPR
Two years ago, out of nowhere, developed LPR (silent reflux). Would have horrendous symptoms during day or night. Was especially problematic when occurred at work. So grateful found this gum product. Truly helps. Use the berry flavor. Worth the money considering the pain and misery i was in. Better now but still keep supply always with me for outbreaks.

Helps Me with Acid Reflux
I've been using the product for several months now. It was recommended by my GI doctor at VCU. I fight with acid reflux & dry mouth all the time due to a medication side effect. It is worse at night. I keep the gum in my mouth at night & it really helps. Mint gums, cause the esophagus to relax & more acid comes up. That is with the head of the bed being raised. The taste is pleasant. It does take a minute or so to chew the tablet into gum form, but once you get used to it, it is fine. Give it a try.

2 stars in case it might help others
This gum was recommended by a Facebook group for Acid Watcher Diet followers. I admit I thought it was just gum--no gum of any kind is allowed on the diet--but upon receiving it I discovered it's FUNCTIONAL gum, which is good for folks who need a blast of alginate, I guess, but that's usually not me. I just wanted some gum to keep my mouth busy. On top of all that, the number of artificial/processed sweeteners in this gum literally made me woozy. I felt like I was going to pass out, which is never my experience after taking the typical Reflux Gourmet product or Gaviscon Advance. I'll pass this pack on to my sister in law, who also suffers from reflux, but I'll mark this as a disappointment--a very expensive disappointment.
