Feels more quality than previous Baofeng handhelds. It is included in the Chirp software radio list.
Nice, solid feeling radio. It is included in the Chirp software radio list.

Grumpy hams beware.
Perfect for a learner talking on ham bands, just don’t tell the people on the radio because they will ridicule you and say your radio is sub par when it is actually far superior than their radios.

If you know how to use these they are fine.
A lot of people buy these who have no idea of what they are or how they work. To them, I say, "Good Luck." It's not the radio's fault. It is quite easy to violate regulations and cause interference. For those who know how complex, computer programable radios work, these are fine. A lot of people who are knowledgeable about radios complain about the quality, but comparing a $40 radio to a $200 radio is pointless. These have there place and considering their price, they are quite reliable, even rugged.

Great Starter UHF/VHF HT Radio
For the price, I'm really happy with this so far. If you are new to Ham radio, I think this is a great starter radio for UHF/VHF analog FM voice. For full transparency, I also bought a Nagoya NA-320A Triband Antenna for around $20 to use with this, so I have not used the antenna it came with. Also, I already had a BTECH USB programming cable, which is not included with the radio, which you can get for around $20, also, if you want to use programming software.I was able to program in my local repeaters with the free CHIRP software with the usb cable I already had. You can program the radio without the cable and software, but they make it easier.I could hit several local repeaters one of which is about 5 miles away. I like the built in NOAA Weather radio feature, so I no longer have to use memory slots for my local noaa frequencies (although this one has around 999 memory slots). The bigger screen and battery capacity are nice of course. I like having all three 2M/1.25M/70CM bands on one radio (although, I believe you have to get a different antenna to be able to use 1.25M/220Mhz). I'm really glad they kept the FM Radio function and they upgraded the flashlight. The USB-C charging option is really nice. I have not explored the AM Aviation feature yet.For $30, it's hard to complain too much about anything.

You can program it with chirp.
Great little radio.....transmission is good and receiving is also good. Speaker is also good. Programing is easy and it feels very Studie in your hands.

Good Radio, Great Price
Not only is this a good radio, but the extra battery helps a lot. Keep one around in case of emergencies or communications outage and get involved in a local Ham Radio Club.

Desktop Charger Fitment Problem
The desktop charger base won't provide the positive contact point pressure that's needed in order to charge. If you push the radio backwards, into contact with the charging prongs, it will charge, but I can't see how it can hold that pressure that's needed in order to keep it in position.Fortunately, the radio can be charged with a USB type C cable, but not with the base they provided with the radio. Maybe it's designed for a different radio? Maybe, just maybe, I'm missing something that's really simple, and I'm just too stupid to figure it out?Has anyone else had this problem? I just realized that a rubber band might solve the issue, but it shouldn't be necessary.

Nice Feng! Nice screen!
I have quite a few models of this radio but really like the screen on this one! Tri band antenna included. I upgraded mine to a Nagoya antenna. 73
