I trust him with my dogs life. **Q: Why does the product listing show "Taurine and Phosphorus"? How much phosphorus is in this product? It isn't listed on the label.** A: I had to switch to NOW brand taurine powder (look in human supplements) for my cats since the pet ag brand had other things in it (supposedly to enhance flavor & likability for pets) & my kitties threw up all their food when taking it & were miserable & losing weight. The NOW brand doesn't have additives & my cats have no bad reactions to it. I don't recommend pet ag brand taurine tablets altho I'm sure there are pets who do ok with it. The powder I use has no taste, no smell, no grit, my kitties don't even know it's on their food, & I know they aren't getting anything except the taurine they need. Phosphorus is one of the things to avoid in kidney failure in pets, and doesn't need to be in taurine for taurine to work. So even if kidney failure isn't an issue, why have it in there? I get NOW taurine powder from Amazon & it lasts me about 6+ mo.s for under $9 (LoTS cheaper than pet ag). It only takes 1/8th tsp daily for an adult cat to be stirred into their dry food or sprinkled on their wet food daily. Since it's one of those rare great things you can't overdose on if you give too much, it's peed off & wasted instead of being harmful if they get more than needed (LOVE THAT!, but I keep a measuring thing inside the bottle anyway). My vet told me it won't harm them & gets wasted in case of too much & says 250 mg/day is what adult cats need in addition to the measly amount pet food companies add to food: the bottle tells how many mg in a measuring spoon so you can figure the dosage out easily). These days you also have to think about all the recalls that effect our pets, & the more additives, the greater the chance of one of them being on a recall. A single pure ingredient is the best way to go. NOW brand supplements is a very good, tested & dependable brand to go with. I won't chance it with some unknown brand. Good luck. **Q: Is this a 100 tablet bottle or a 50 tablet bottle? Both counts are listed in the product description.** A: 100 tablets per bottle. My vet tells me to break them in half.
