Amazon Basics 8-Sheet High Security Cross Cut Paper and Credit Card Shredder with P-4 Security, Auto Shut-off, Black

This is a cool shredder that really shreds a bunch of papers at once. I love the shreds it makes, they are perfect for pet bedding, and the waste drawer holds a ton before you have to empty it. It has solidly great safety features and is easy to use. I appreciate that the buttons and readout messages are straightforward and I don't need to refer to the manual every time I turn it on or a message pops up. I've used it enough to make 4 giant garbage bags of shreds since it arrived, I had a backlog of papers that had been stacking up for months! And it's still going strong. I've needed to oil it twice with so much shredding, you can tell it's time to oil when it just starts feeling like it takes a half second more to shred. Glad I grabbed this, I love that I'm able to keep secure and repurpose our non-inky paper as bedding or mulch, it works great! Not too noisy, either!

This shredder is perfect! It is just the right size so I can fit into a corner for easy access. Great value for the price it does a great job. It allows me enables me to safely get rid of junk mail and old personal papers no longer needed. It does have a bit of a noise factor but, that is reduced somewhat after I lubricate the shredder. What a great shredder this turned out to be. I was ready to order a much more expensive shredder but this one for the money is the best shredder I own. It's a work horse and never heats up like many of my other shredders I have had in the past. You will not be disappointed.

Good product and a fair price. The "grab" of the paper is al little slow for my taste as you must push it in deep before it starts feeding. However, it cuts well and handles thicker stock too. It's a heavy unit which usually means the parts and quality should be good. For the price, I'd say it should give me many years of service before replacement is due, after all nothing lasts forever.

I'd say for it's very first use it did great! It's very small and compact, its very efficient for its size. Incredibly easy to assemble, literally two pieces and nothing requires screwing in. Its a little noisy but nothing out of the ordinary, it's a paper shredder lol. I'd say it's pretty durable especially because our first day of having it we shredded 6 trash bags of paper shreds! So it works really well and I surprisingly didnt fry the motor. 10/10 very nice for the prize and size. If something happens to our current shredder i'd probably just buy this one again. The only con is that if you have a bad enough paper jam you might need to disassemble it because the forward and reverse option dont work when it jams. Disassembly is super easy. But if you take the front cover off, there's three things you need to make sure at lined up before you screw it back together. You line up the LED lights to the holes on front, and there's another small piece that goes to the on/off switch, that also needs to be lined up, and of course the shredder. It's easy. Hard to mess up. Highly recommend

AS SOMEONE DOING A LONG OVERDUE HOME CLEANOUT, I BOUGHT THIS because old mail, expired documents, and credit card offers pile up faster than trash day. The main reason people buy this shredder is to safely get rid of personal information without making a mess or spending office level money. What I wanted was something compact that could live under a desk, handle regular household paperwork, and not feel like a toy. This shredder hits that balance and immediately felt more solid than the ultra cheap strip cut models. Here is the usage tip I wish Amazon spelled out clearly. Treat the eight sheet rating as a maximum, not a goal. For normal mail and mixed paper, five to six sheets at a time works best and keeps it running smoothly. Feed pages straight and give it a second between loads so the motor does not heat up. For credit cards, insert one at a time and let it finish fully before adding anything else. Doing this completely avoids jams and extends the life of the cutters, especially if you shred in short sessions instead of marathon runs. The minor downside is the waste bin fills faster than you expect because cross cut pieces are denser, and it is not whisper quiet. That said, for home use it has been reliable, easy to maintain, and far more secure than strip shredders. If you want dependable document destruction without paying for a bulky office shredder, this is a smart buy that does exactly what it should when used correctly.

Shredder works well, we shredded quite a bit over a few days. Using auto feeder mode does jam up, or will start spinning continuously if you aren't diligent about making sure there are no half sheets or folded sheets of paper in the stack...So it's not a set and forget unless you know your stack is clean....Bin is OK sized, a couple stacks approaching the 200 sheet mark will fill it up and cause the bin full light to illuminate and shredder to stop.....Also need to make sure any stapled sheets are not too thick, anything more than a 4-5 sheets stapled will cause issues in feeding. I eventually just started removing all staples....Only real issue didn't like was when bin full lights up, and you open the shredder to pull out the bin, the shreds are so stacked up in the back when you pull the bin out, quite a bit of shred pieces fall about especially in the back of the bin....Kind of messy and a little annoying. Make sure you have a vacuum handy for clean up afterward.....Otherwise, for the money you can't expect miracles and it shreds fine manually and the auto feed works decently overall....Would buy it again.

The shredder is very quiet and works great! Hopefully lasts a good long time. I like that it has a handle to lift the top which makes it easy to empty.
