Does exactly what I needed it to do
Bought this product because my gaming headphones (Astro A40s) that I use to play on my Xbox weren’t working on my PC. Headphones worked, mic wasn’t working. When I plug them into this and plug this into my PC however, it completely fixed the problem. Even Astro and Microsoft support could not help me solve a problem that this $9 cable helped me fix immediately

Horrible sound quality
I have a very nice headset but the sound that I was getting using this plugged into my laptop was absolutely garbage. It sounded like everything was in a tin can.

A Classic Gamer Necessity
No need to spend big money on name brand peripherals of this source. No sound issues, no static, and plenty cheap.

Took a headset with a single TRRS cord (headphones and mic) and split for desktop with two ports
I’ve got a desktop pc that has a dedicated 3.5mm mic port and a 3.5mm headphones port. Headsets with a mic typically have a single cord (unless they are solely Bluetooth). If you want to use one of those with a desktop that has both ports, you need to split the signal. If you’re bored and want to learn about the various kinds of jacks, you can look into TS, TRS, and TRRS. If you’ve ever looked at your cables and noticed that some tips have more rings than others it’s because some are designed to carry more signals than others. TS means tip and sleave, which gives you mono sound. TRS means tip, ring, sleave, and that typically gives you stereo sound. TRRS means tip, ring, ring, sleave, which should give you stereo sound and mic. A lot of devices, such as phones and Chromebooks, have a single port. Depending on your equipment, you might need a different kind of adapter for that. Or if you have a certain kind of mic and you want to use it with a device that has one port, you may need an adapter, or if you used a certain kind of mic with a computer that has both ports, you may need yet another kind of adapter. The main thing is, not all things that have one of these 3.5mm male connectors can be used interchangeably without adapters in all 3.5mm ports. As for this item, it worked fine for me. Was the connection lossless? I have no idea. I’m not an audiophile. The headset I was using worked fine for me. I could hear things clearly, and the mic recorded my voice clearly. I did not have any extraneous noises such as hisses or pops. This is probably good enough for most people in most situations.
