Color Sensation 4.0 Deep Brown Permanent Hair Dye

Love this. Just dyed my hair with it and cannot believe how soft and shiny it is. As soft as when ive been to hairdressers. Perfect colour and coverage. I have tried quite a few brands and must say this is the nicest color result and feel yet. Just bought 2 more ready for next couple times. 👍👍

I got this for my mum because she wanted to try something a bit bolder with her hair, and wow, it really delivered. The colour is gorgeous – a deep, rich ruby red that actually shows up well even on her darker hair. She was a bit nervous it might be too bright, but it turned out to be the perfect balance between vibrant and classy. Application was easy enough, and it didn’t have that super strong chemical smell like some dyes do. Her hair felt surprisingly soft afterwards, and the shine was amazing. It’s been a couple of weeks now and the colour is still holding up nicely with just a bit of fading – nothing dramatic. Overall, she’s really happy with it and already wants me to order another box for when it’s time to top up. Definitely a win!

Great colour looks good

This really is an excellent product that I will be buying… now and again. I say that because there are a few considerations which are the only reason I won’t be switching over to this product permanently. The first is that the bottle of dye is too small to accept the very thick and gloopy developer cream. It’s an extremely messy process as the cream just can’t be squirted or directed into the dye . It ends up all over the outer rim and sides of the bottle and you have to scrape it back up with your finger and then into the hole. When you finally get all the cream into the bottle of dye, the consistency is so thick -and the bottle so full- that the contents can’t disperse when shaken. A lot of the had cream simply sticks at the bottom and just sits there refusing to budge and remaining the same colour as when it went- in. I then tried to squeeze the contents into my own hair dye applicator tool as I do with all my previous hair dyes. Again, it’s just so impossibly thick that the solution can’t get through the hollow prongs of the comb-end to the scalp and now the device is clogged and useless. For these reasons I would only advise that you buy the product if you are intending to apply it the old fashioned way, i.e. solutions mixed in a separate bowl and applied with a tinting brush. Also, I have grey roots and although the initial coverage was seamless and excellent, unfortunately this dye does tend to lift-off before the next application is due. If Garnier can just eliminate these slight disadvantages, , I would definitely swap brands.

I wouldn't recommend this item. My hair was bleached blonde and upon reading what could achieve as in that nice white grey look I went for it. Anyway put on for 35 minutes. It did feel like it was burning a little bit but did calm down and I was also worried as I heard like a sizzling noise at one stage and was tempted to wash it out sooner. Anyway it came out a colour I can't quite distinguish..like a dirty mousey colour, to me it's sort of grey, blonde, white..like the colour of dirty snow with a little bit of mud and pee mushed in all together is only way I can describe it as which doesnt sound nice. There is also no way this can do a full head if yoj have long hair you would need two to 3. .I have short hair and it just about covered it. There is no brush to do it with lucky I had one or mixing plastic tub. I did follow the instructions to a T however the box I received the product in was one just like many other people's on here who have mentioned in the reviews that it arrived crushed and also upon other people's pictures, I can't tell if the contents were all there in my box...mine had a sachet as one item and in pictures can see some had a bottle. Another issue is the instructions are sooooo small I couldn't read it and it's in so many languages and whilst that's ok, I personally struggled to find the one for me so I had to take a picture of each section then read it from the picture I took which is not ideal at all. Why make the text that small that you can't reas..my vision is great so know its not that I simply couldn't see it. Anyway the only positve was that I was happy that my hair didn't fall out but that was it really. The coverage of it works well for very short hair but even with that I would recommend someone helps you cover the back otherwise it would end up patchy. I would not purchase again based on the results and also upon how I received the item.
