high performance for athletes
I have it on as I type this. First off, it. Really is as quiet as they say. It runs in sort of a pulse pattern, and gives light compression on the cuff during the pulse. Hoses are good quality, the connectors are super easy to use. The pad is a little odd at first, and isn’t the most intuitive thing to use, but it can be conformed to most joints with a little bit of adjusting. It is very comfortable and covers a big area. The ice bucket is clever; it’s like a rubber camp bucket but with a drawstring flap. This keeps any splashing from the pump to a minimum, and keeps the pump in the water. I would have liked it to be a little heavier rubber, so it would freestand just a bit better- but no spills have occurred yet! It’s much better that those janky coolers with pumps glued into them. Even the power cord is well designed, with plugs that snap together so it doesn’t get water in them or come apart while you’re immobile. The 3 mode controller works great, and the 30 minute timer is the perfect cycle. On level 3, it’s moving a serious amount of ice water. I almost wished I had kept a very thin layer (like athletic tights or something) on before the cuff, it’s that cold! This is the one to get if you want something worthy of serious athletic recovery or injury/surgery rehab.

Ice machine with timer to promote healing
A friend recommended getting an ice machine to help my husband heal after a complete ankle replacement surgery. I had never heard of such a device until a friend recommended we use one. The ice machine does away with melting ice dripping all over and soaking a patient. The icing promotes healing by stimulating blood circulation, washing away any bad stuff from the wound and reducing swelling. We've used it 2x a day on his leg after surgery about three weeks ago. The timer is a great help. I buy a big bag of ice that lasts for a week's worth of icing applications. The ice itself is poured into a canvas 'tub' into which I set the machine's pump. A sturdy 'hose' attached to a multi-use ice 'pad' pumps the icy water to it. We wrap a soft cloth around his leg so the pad itself, wrapped around his leg and secured with velcro, doesn't touch his skin, and he's in control of the timer. We were told that there likely would be seeping from the wound, but there's been none! I think the ice machine is the reason. It also helps discourage blot clots in his leg that he is not to walk on/put any pressure for 6 weeks. The icing keeps his blood circulating in that leg that he cannot exercise until his doctor's team gives him permission. Price was quite reasonable and we'll have this icing device for future use if we need it again.

The hose connector is flimsy but overall, it works great.
Arrived on time, works as advertised and for the right price. The hose connector would not latch without a lot of fiddling. I taped it around with duct tape the connector and it works much better. It was just built flimsy and cheaply. Other than that, it works great and it provides icy cooling onto the required area. It works great.

worked for 5 months then stopped. Can't get warranty support
I have used this product for a total knee replacement recovery for 5 months. It is convenient and helpful. BUT, it suddenly will not turn on and will not work at all. I have written the warranty email twice to report as it claims to have a 1-year warranty. It is past the date that Amazon can provide customer service help, so I can only depend on the "product warranty" from Realthlete.com I had hoped to use this product for longer than 5 months.

not worth the money
does not get as cold as a regular ice pack. Cummerson and hard to wrap around small frame. Thick tubes that do no bend well. the bag is a joke. Charged $131.00, when returned only got a refund of $110.00, where is the the other $21.00. You have to put in a box to return, can not tape up box it came in, have to have a new box, which is hard to find. I d not recommend this product not worth the trouble , or the money.

Great for knees but how is it applied to a shoulder?
2 years ago I had my left knee replaced and did not know about this pump. It was suggested I try it this time, so I ordered it remembering the hassle I had with ice packs last time. Well, no more hassles. Hubby fills the bag twice a day, in the morning and before bedtime, with ice and water, and keeps it in a small cooler. It stays cold all day and night, and keeps me comfortable. Protip: use a heated mattress pad for the rest of your body for even more comfort all night. Cons: The straps are pretty long so figure out a way to shorten them as needed. How would I place this on my shoulder for a total shoulder replacement???

Stopped working after one month
Was loving this but then it wouldn’t turn on. I use it at least once a week for month then last two times it won’t turn on. Right after return window.

Works great!
We bought this for my second knee replacement. We borrowed a different brand from a friend, but the pump was super loud and annoying, and eventually it died. This machine is pretty great, compared to what's out there! There's a learning curve with the fit and the velcro straps. The velcro straps get scratchy on the back of the leg (unless you use a wrap or towel) It flows COLD, which is exactly what you need when you're in pain with a swollen knee!
