Derma Scalp Density Boost 3-in-1 Scalp Serum 1 ct, 2 oz

I want to start by saying that the order arrived well packaged. The bottle is made of great quality glass. The dropper works perfect. I love that this serum is water based, which applies super easy and light on your scalp. Overall, the bottle looks pretty and luxurious in my opinion. STORY: About a month ago, I made the decision to take care of the health of my hydrolipidic mantle primarily, and the health of my hair. I have suffered from oily hair, dry- itchy - sensitive scalp and dandruff my whole life and I have used a lot of different products to get rid of the dandruff and nothing seemed to work. I wasn't washing my hair regularly... to be honest, I wasn't taking care of my hair or scalp at all. I didn't even know you had to... I thought washing and drying it was all I had to do but , I was wrong! My hydrolipidic mantle got to a point where it began to form hard buildup, it was red, very dry, very flaky and itchy (I would wake up with dirt and residue under my nails every morning! That's how bad my situation was.) ; My hair used to get oily a day after washing it and I had to shampoo it twice to "get it clean"! On top of all that, my mantle never looked clean , hydrated or healthy. AND, it made my hair fall out like crazy; I thought I was sick or something. I knew I had to do things differently for my condition to change, so, I decided to THOROUGHLY research about seborrheic dermatitis (what I was suffering from) and dandruff and I found that most of hair products out there contain common hair oils like (coconut, olive, avocado and jojoba oils, etc) which actually feeds the fungus that causes seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff... WHAT! Yes, my friend, do your research. So, I started looking for hair products that didn't contain any of those oils (I literally spent hours and days looking at a lot of shampoo and scalp treatments' ingredient lists lol) and I found this great scalp serum. I was happy to see on the ingredients that they didn't use oils and decided to give it a try. And OMG. It was the best decision! I have been using this serum judiciously for about a month now (8-9 times) following the instructions and my hydrolipidic mantle has made significant changes! It stopped being red/ sensitive by the second use (although I felt relieve instantly after applying it for the first time), it's not itchy like it was, no visible dandruff by the second use, it didn't leave my hair dry, it also does not make my hair oily (I can now go 3 days without washing my hair without it getting dirty or super oily). The serum does leave a thin film on my hair after it drys (I personally apply 3 full droppers after washing my hair) but it goes away if you pass your fingers through your hair and if you dry your hair with a hair dryer like in my case. This serum smells amazing. The cool/ fresh sensation I get every time I apply this serum is a true experience... very pleasant! My mantle now looks and feels clean, hydrated, fresh and healthy. I do have noticed much more density/ fullness in my hair, and a GREAT relief and improvement in the dryness and sensitivity of my scalp. AND I'm having new growth as well!!! I hope they don't discontinue this serum EVER. This is a must have for my hair and scalp routine from now on! TIP: I use a silicone scalp massager to massage the serum on my scalp instead of using my fingers and it makes a huge difference. I totally recommend getting one.

I am a picky person but when I like a product I can’t stop recommending and this is something I will keep repurchasing and recommend ❤️ product is light weight, non greasy and dries really fast I can say. Smells amazing too!!

I got this because Abby Yung (haircare expert on tik tok) recommended it. I’m suffering from an extremely dry, flaky and itchy scalp, and hair loss/fall and so I’ve been researching ways to improve my scalp health. I like the ingredients in this and the serum really does seem to help me, my scalp looks and feels so much healthier and the flakes and dryness and most of the itching is gone now that I’ve applied it twice. This is non greasy but definitely will leave a gummy residue if you use too much in one spot. Also as others have mentioned, the applicator on this is horrible. It’s very frustrating to use and hard to grab the product with, and then it dispenses way too much product into the hair. I’ve gotten around this by not using the applicator other than to put a few drops into my palm and use a clean, angled makeup brush to pick the product up from my hand and apply it to my part line and scalp that way. I found that using the serum right after washing, is key too. Blow drying seems to prevent too much product from collecting in areas and making my hair feel weird. I would absolutely buy this again for the benefits but the applicator needs to be reconfigured.

While the product is fine; not grease, smells nice, the packaging was terrible for me. The plunger on the top leaked on both bottles I purchased and barely any product is sucked up to dispense. I had this issue with both bottles I received (bought one, returned it and got a replacement one).

I've used two bottles and love it. It helps itchy scalp, heal scabs quickly and importantly, I have seen significant regrowth. You need to use on wet hair - I also use a manual hair massager to rub it thoroughly into my scalp. The dropper has changed from my first purchase and it is terrible. I use a normal dropper instead.

It took a really long time to receive this (ordered 3/19, received 4/20), and I have only been using it for 10 days, so no opinion on product efficacy... but I just wanna say the dropper is awful. It takes some level of technical prowess to actually get the liquid to uptake into the dropper. Then there are the digital calisthenics involved in being able to press the dropper button to release the liquid onto the scalp and in the desired location. And this process needs to be repeated multiple times bc I've only been successful in getting a small amount of product in the dropper at a time. The whole thing is less than ideal. Then there is the smell. It's not unpleasant but it is strong, I would prefer if not fragrance free then a big tone down. The product gets good reviews so I'm determined to continue using it for at least 6 months, but Dove has not made that easy. I will be getting a different bottle/dropper to transfer this to, because damn. Update 2 days after initial review: this dropper is just a fail, the cap is falling apart (see attached photo).

I started using the Dove Scalp + Hair Therapy Density Booster about a week ago and I’m already seeing some positive results. The product is very lightweight and doesn't leave any greasy residue on my scalp, which I appreciate since I have fine hair. It absorbs quickly and has a pleasant, subtle scent. I’ve noticed that my hair feels a bit fuller at the roots and looks healthier overall. While it’s too soon to say how much of a long-term thickening effect it will have, I’m happy with the early progress. I apply it daily as directed and gently massage it into my scalp for the best results. Delivery was smooth—it arrived on July 15 and was left securely near my front door with no damage. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product if you're looking for a non-greasy, easy-to-use scalp serum to boost hair density over time!

I’ve been using this product about a month and a half and I’m seeing new growth in the areas of my hair that were looking sparse so I will definitely continue to use it. Unlike other scalp serums which can be heavy and greasy, this product is very easy to apply and doesn’t leave a heavy residue at all. I would recommend that anyone include it in their hair care routine.
