And can you use spray cooking oil to keep lubricated?** A: Direction illustrates oil being poured right onto the the bar and chain. I have just been pouring small amounts of bar chain oil right onto the chain where it goes into the housing. So far this lil saw is doing a great job. As far as using cooking oil. IDK. Hope this helps. **Q: can i buy a extra chain and batteres** A: I don't know but it comes with an extra chain and two rechargeable batteries. **Q: Do the chains need to be oiled?** A: The directions state that they do but in another area it said “ ready to use”. I charged both batteries and used it to cut 2 trees down. I have abused this little saw mercilessly cutting small diameter branches for firewood, trimming out larger limbs, and brush clearing. Faster than loppers for trimming gnarly brush and branches to pack in my utility dump cart. Not recommended, but it does a fine job slashing dense thorny and wisteria vines, also. Simple, light, fast, versatile. Battery life is good. Chain life is good. It goes along with my other chainsaws on every job (home use, not a pro). However, although still running and cutting, abuse has damaged some plastic parts, and for safety reasons it is time to replace.
