Love that the silicone covers the entire mitt which is also padded to protect you from the heat. Most of the ones in the stores have fabric on the bottom which makes it hard to keep them clean

These definitely will protect your hands against high heat. They are very thick and the silicone provides a very secure grip. Buut they are so big and oversized that it is hard to manipulate anything other than maybe a cookie sheet. I wanted them to be able to manage dutch ovens while baking bread. Nearly impossible! Others made similar comments in reviews but I thought i would give these a try. I will keep them, but I defiitely need something that provides more dexterity.

Oversized great fit for handling hot dishes in the oven

I turned on the griddle by mistake ( instead oven) to 450 F. These silicone mittens were on the griddle! I took a nap, and I woke up 53 min later when I heard the timer. That is when I realized my mistake. The silicone changed color a bit, but the inside turned brown from the high heat. I am impressed and I am glad I do not have the canvas mittens anymore!
