I have an old Hama tripod which I like because it has integral levels - so useful for getting the camera straight for taking photos of my artwork. Somehow or other the clip-in shoe had got lost which meant I couldn’t use it. Did a search on Amazon & came up with this as a replacement. Such excellent value - the plastic seems robust and the screw fitting has a small metal ring on top which helps to screw & unscrew the shoe to the camera. It fitted my Panasonic Lumix camera easily and attached nice and firmly to the base. It then clipped easily and correctly into my old tripod - I was so happy. A great result for such little money.

I bought this because I wanted to utilise my old tripod bought in the 90’s by my dad when I first took up a camera. It wouldn’t take my dslr Nikon. I can report that this fits my Nikon camera and my tripod has been given a new lease of life. It fits easily on the neck of the tripod after attachment to my camera. Sturdy and well made and good value.

Definitely works better than using sellotape 😝. It isn't a perfect snug fit, I am not sure how I would feel putting a heavier piece of more expensive equipment on it. However it does the job I bought it for: the shoe does fit my tripod and holds still and allows for full range of motion (even horizontal) without falling out/off. I bought this for a specific attachment that holds a mobile phone (rather than a camera).

I’ve been trying to find an emergency replacement shoe for my Velbon EF-51 but couldn’t find any useful reviews. So I bought this show which was very cheap and placed it into the Velbon tripod. It sits very well and will hold up. With enough force it can come out of place but not fully. If you grind down the longer side of the show you will be able to lock it it as you can see in the pictures and video you can’t. There’s no point buying the expensive shoe that fits as you might as well buy a new tripod (I know it doesn’t sound right as you want to make sure your equipment is safe), but you might as well make your old tripod an emergency back up... hope this review helps as I couldn’t find a definitive answer about this shoe.

Well made and fitted my Hama Star 63 tripod like a glove, no problems at all and now I can swap camera, binoculars and telescope easily. Thank You.
