Great entry RC plane
The world of radio-controlled (RC) aviation can be intimidating for a newcomer. The fear of seeing your brand-new investment splinter into pieces on its maiden flight is enough to keep many potential pilots on the ground. However, the HobbyZone Duet S2 is designed specifically to dismantle that fear. It is a budget-friendly, ultra-micro trainer that proves you don’t need a massive runway or a massive budget to experience the joy of flight. The Ultimate Entry Point The Duet S2 is the definition of "Ready-To-Fly" (RTF). Everything you need—the plane, the transmitter, the battery, and the charger—is included in one box. Its ultra-micro size is one of its greatest assets; with a wingspan of just 525mm, it’s small enough to be flown in a local park, a baseball diamond, or even a large backyard. What makes the Duet S2 stand out from toy-grade planes is its "hobby-quality" DNA. While it’s inexpensive, it uses a 3-channel control system that gives you genuine authority over the aircraft's throttle, elevator (climb/descend), and steering via differential thrust. Because it uses two motors to turn rather than complex moving parts in the wings, the mechanics stay simple and reliable for a beginner. SAFE Technology: Your Invisible Co-Pilot The "S" in S2 stands for SAFE (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology, and for a beginner, this is the most important feature of the aircraft. This software works behind the scenes to help prevent the two most common causes of crashes: over-controlling and loss of orientation. Pitch and Bank Limits: In Beginner Mode, the plane simply won't let you tilt it too far. If you push the stick all the way to the left, the plane will bank to a safe angle and stay there, preventing you from accidentally rolling it into a death spiral. Self-Leveling: If you get confused or feel like you're losing control, you can simply let go of the sticks. The Duet S2 will automatically return to level flight. Progressive Modes: As you gain confidence, you can switch to Experienced Mode, which removes these limits and allows you to explore the plane's full maneuverability. While no technology can stop you from flying into a lone tree or a stray power line, SAFE technology prevents the vast majority of "pilot error" crashes that plague first-time flyers. Built to Fly, Easy to Fix Let’s be honest: even with the best technology, gravity eventually wins. The Duet S2 is constructed from EPS (Expanded Polystyrene), which is incredibly lightweight. This lightness allows it to fly slowly and gently, but it does mean the airframe isn't "indestructible" like some heavier, carbon-reinforced models. However, the Duet S2 is a "survivor." Because the airframe is so light, it carries very little kinetic energy into a collision. When it does take a tumble, the damage is usually a clean snap rather than a catastrophic shattering. This is where the beauty of its design shines: it is remarkably easy to repair. If you crack a wing or the nose, you don't need a professional workshop to get back in the air. A roll of clear packing tape and a bottle of Super Glue (ensure it is foam-safe) or Gorilla Glue are all you need. In fact, many veteran Duet pilots find that a "taped-up" Duet flies just as well as a brand-new one. The EPS foam bonds quickly with these adhesives, and a little tape can reinforce the leading edges of the wings to make them even tougher for the next flight. Final Verdict The HobbyZone Duet S2 isn't meant to be a high-speed aerobatic powerhouse. It is a gentle, patient teacher. It’s the perfect gift for a child or an adult looking for a low-stakes entry into a rewarding hobby. Between the crash-preventing SAFE technology and the fact that you can "fix and fly" with basic household glues, the Duet S2 offers a level of accessibility that is hard to beat. It’s not just a plane; it’s a confidence builder. Once you've mastered the skies with this little twin-motor trainer, you’ll find yourself ready for the bigger, faster challenges of the RC world.

Floats on Air!!!
This is a very easy and great flyer 👏🏾 Flies slow enough for a small area. Highly recommended for a beginner plane to learn the basics of flight using hand and eye coordination. Recommend a light piece of tape to ensure battery stays in place as a precaution there's no battery cover so if mishap should happen you won't lose your battery. They are very small and I dropped it but found. Highly recommend you get extra batteries because you won't want to stop!!! GET A 4 PK !!! Happy Flying!!!

Great Beginner Plane, Anyone Can Fly This Plane!!
I was hesitant to buy this . I wanted something bigger, faster , stronger. After putting this thing In the air, I’m so glad I bought this instead of the other planes. I know for a fact I would have 100% destroyed them; likely the first flight. I’m going to practice some more with this and then step it up . Overall great for beginners, it is so easy to fly, even with no experience.. I highly recommend this plane

Excellent first rc plane
2nd grade grandson easily capable of flying this plane. Pretty sturdy, flies well. Fly in low wind, under 10mph, only, very light.

I paid 80.00 dollars for this garbage, I’m so regret to waste my money on this 1 battery, charge do not last at all. Rather saved to buy something better Big mistake

Poor charging plug
It’s a light plane and easy to fly. The charging plug did not function after the first charge. Had to return the plan.

Not super durable
I bought this thinking that I could replace any parts that might break during a crash. While they offer some replacement parts, you cannot buy the replacement foam body. Unfortunately the foam body is not as durable as I hoped. On the first flight, a chunk of the nose broke during a crash. It broke into multiple pieces and was too difficult to glue back on so I used a piece of duct tape to cover the hole and help protect from more damage. I wish I would have put duct tape over the nose to protect it before crashing it. On the second flight the entire tail piece snapped off during a crash. I thought the plane was completely unusable after that because they don’t sell a replacement foam body. Thankfully I was able to glue it back on with superglue. I also learned in the manual of a different plane that they make special superglue called CA glue for foam planes. The plane still works and flies.

Stable in the air
This plane has gotten even better with the S2. I tried it for my grand-daughter and it flew easier than the old Duet. I like the DUET logo on the receiver. Great for keeping kids organized.

Very cheap materials - made of foam not plastic. Parts held together with tape . Broken easily . Too expensive . Poor value
