Klein Tools 11046 Wire Stripper, Wire Cutter for 16-26 AWG Stranded Wire, Compact Nose with Precision-Ground Stripping Holes, Made in USA

This is a review on Klein Tools wire strippers type 11046EP. These are excellent wire strippers from a trusted USA maker. As a hobby guitar stomp box builder, I mainly use 22 awg multi-stranded PTFE insulated wire which I pre-cut into relatively short lengths (1 to 6 inches). My automatic strippers (AB Mk1s, I have both vintage and new) will not strip this PTFE to any acceptable standard. These Kleins work fine, but very short lengths (1-inch) are difficult to hold. I get round the problem by using the basic Klein /Ideal style to pre-cut the PTFE and ABs to pull off. It’s a bit of a ‘mess on’ but it works. I’m fussy about the tools I use and these Kleins are as good as you’ll get.

This wire stripper isn't quite as refined as the KLE11055 that I also have (with the curved handles), but it's still a pleasure to use. The blades are extremely sharp and work well for both cutting and stripping. This is a great size for general domestic repair work where you may need to strip mains flex as well as ribbon cable and hookup wire on PCBs.

These are great wire cutters, USA made and Klein Tools are a trusted brand. Good size range AWG 10 - 20. AWG 14/16 will strip internal blue, brown & earth wires. These are a breeze to use and strip solid wire perfectly and evenly with minumum pressure.

I know these are fab tools I had this one before and lost it I was soo glad to be able to get klein again well done U S A

If I were to give it a rating, I’d say 4.5 out of 5 stars for what it is: a high-quality, precision stripper/cutter for smaller solid wires. Best for you if you: 1. Work frequently with 22-30 AWG solid wire (such as wiring in controls, electronics, communications, etc). 2. Value build quality, precision, and a trusted brand (Klein). 3. Need a compact tool that can reach into tighter areas. Less ideal if you: 1. Frequently strip/cut larger wires (say 10-18 AWG or stranded) — you’ll want a tool with broader range. 2. Do heavy duty, high volume wire stripping where greater comfort/ergonomics matter more. 3. Need a multi-function tool (crimping, larger gauge etc) rather than a dedicated small gauge stripper. For low voltage work these are perfect, color coded yellow for easy identification, for the price you cant beat the quality. Also, these say these are for solid wire but you can strip stranded as well.

They work perfectly although I wish I had gotten the strippers that had the lock.thats my mistake though. There are a well made quality product
