BEST VALUE TOOL KIT FOR A-SCHOOL
First off, if you want legitimate Made in USA tools by Craftsman, hit up your local flea market (swap meet) or online used tools marketplaces (CL, FB Marketplace, etc.). This is NOT the original USA brand and like a lot of the name brands of yesteryear, these are made 'off shore'. But no worries. These are as good as any of the other foreign tools and when a bunch of military graduates had to get a 'starter' tool set to get through A-School, this kit won hands down. Why? Great assortment of SAE and SI (metric). Great packaging. Great quality. Price? SUPERB! A whole bunch of Coasties, Marines, and Soldiers immediately ordered this kit for under $100. No, really. Less than a hundred bucks and to date, of 60 kits purchased not a single tool has broken under almost daily use! Again, daily USE, not abuse. Could these men and women gone into debt buying 'buy once cry once' top name (S**p-O*)? Sure but at this stage of their careers, they need to learn the trades, keep their money (Uncle Sam deducts $350/month for food you know), and take care of families. Once again, Amazon sales keep our heroes and heroines in the game. Thank you Amazon and thank you Craftsman.

This tool set has everything I need for basic projects around the house. The tools are sturdy, well-made, and organized nicely in the case. Great quality for the price — definitely recommend for home use or as a starter set!

Perfect Weekend Warrior Mechanic Set
With an upcoming hub/bearing assembly swap on 3 of the 4 wheels and new brakes on all four, I needed a new ratchet as my 28-year-old Craftsman 3/8" ratchet suffered a couple of rounded off teeth after years of use and abuse. Shopping around just for a ratchet, and wanting to also buy a 1/2" ratchet, the prices pushed me to start looking at larger/bundled kits. While I didn't really need all of the sockets and wrenches included in this kit, I couldn't beat the price, especially with the price reduction on this kit, which by the way is still full price at Lowes. I couldn't be happier with this kit, and it should well-serve any weekend warrior mechanic for years to come, as long as you don't abuse the tools. I added some adapters to the kit to allow use of the 1/2" drive with some of the 3/8" sockets, as the length of the 1/2" drive provides a little more leverage, finding that sweet spot when the 3/8" drive isn't enough and my 18" breaker bar is too much/doesn't fit in the tight spot. The plastic case, with the removeable trays/drawers keeps everything neat and tidy, easily identifying when something is missing. With my aging eyes, it was tough to see the raised numbering to identify the socket size, but this is easily addressed by coloring the raised numbering with a black Sharpie to make them contrast against the rest of the red tray. It was nice how the trays can be removed and stacked on top of the case for easy access. As mentioned above, I added adapters, but I also added a 6" 3/8" drive extension as the included extensions were too short to access the mounting bolts for the brake calipers and hub/bearing assemblies on my vehicle. The layout of the trays/drawers leaves plenty of space for these additions and probably a bit more. This kit paired with the Craftsman 1/2" impact driver, and the added adapters and extension, I was able to tackle the job easily and save myself a ton of money instead of paying the dealership or some other garage to do this. The only thing needed for the job that wasn't in this kit was a 32mm socket to remove the axel nuts, thankfully I was able to borrow one from a friend. Overall, this is a great kit and I highly recommend it, especially if it is $90 below regular price.

Great tool box
Let’s be real: I bought this set because I refused to pay a mechanic $400 to change my alternator, and I needed something better than the mismatched, rusty tools currently rolling around in my junk drawer. For that purpose? This set is a goldmine. The Real Talk: The "Click" Factor: The 72-tooth ratchets are actually surprisingly crisp. I was working in a tight spot near the firewall of my truck, and having that smaller swing arc saved my knuckles from getting shredded. The "Shiny" Factor: The chrome is thick. I dropped a socket into a pan of used oil, fished it out, wiped it off, and it looked brand new. The 10mm Situation: It comes with enough 10mm sockets (deep and shallow) that when you inevitably lose the first one into the engine bay abyss, you have a backup. That alone is worth the price. Why I knocked off a star (The "Case" Struggle): The tools are great, but the plastic case is the weak link. It holds the tools fine while closed, but the friction fit is inconsistent. I opened it up on my driveway, and three sockets immediately decided to make a run for it. Also, the plastic latches feel like they might give up the ghost after a year of heavy use. Bottom Line: It has a few too many "filler" screwdriver bits to bump up the piece count to 230, but the core tools—the ratchets and sockets—are rock solid. It paid for itself after one brake job.

Nicely organized tool set with good tools that are comfortable in hand.
I got this tool set for my attached garage workbench so that I would have a nice socket set in a small, organized location to keep clutter at bay. The tools are very nice and work well--my first tool set was a craftsman set that has served me well over the years. It's permanent home is on a small workbench in my garage so I can't say much as to weight, since it won't be carried around except in emergencies but it does lock, which I don't need. Tools feel good in the hand and generally seem to be of similar durability as my old craftsman tools. Really like the organized case alot.
