Stainless steel
Have lasted well, stainless steel is a must for ocean kayaks and these haven’t corroded at all. Took my time to review them to make sure.

Wouldn't use nothing elce . These are quality
After buying other well nuts from Amazon that were completely useless for using on my kayak I thought I'd give these a go . I only ordered 12 as wernt sure if they'd be the same . I screwed my railblaza track down with these and they are the dogs nuts. I was able to lift my t-bolt up and the rail didnt move one bit. I've now ordered another 6 packs .THEY JUST TAKE ABOUT 2 WEEKS TO BE DELIVERED 😡😡

These are easy to install and are perfect for mounting accessories on kayaks. I've used them for my kayak trolling motor mount and stern light mount. They have held up well and performed just as they should.

Works great!!! Per a YouTube video they recommended 8.5mm drill bit and they were correct vs using a 10mm drill bit. Just expand the hole a bit more as needed until it fits.

I goofed and used some well nuts from a hardware store (Hillman) that I guess were for use in thinner material and didn't create enough stoppage to hold worth a darn. These guys did the trick and work great on the thick walls of a kayak hull. Our new chair is now so firmly held to the yak that you can lift it up and shake it by the chair. Even fit the old holes perfectly, nice ! One note - the screws are M5 x .8 and check your lengths carefully. It can be hard finding M5 in retail stores, and doubly hard to find it in a good marine grade and in longer lengths, so you may not be able to just run out and get new screws if these don't fit. Also, if you're mounting a non-flat object (like the tubing of a chair) then consider getting some washers at the same time; the gasket head up top has a tendency to bunch a bit if allowed. In my case they were just about 2mm too short to engage the brass threads, so what I did was instead of putting the well nut into the hole first, I put it on the screw and push it down until I could thread it a bit. This little bit of compression resulted in just the least bit expansion, and I could still easily push it into the hole, then drive it. Worked great. The package doesn't really contain any information on it, so if you're going to store the leftovers I would suggest coming back here to get the specs and labelling the pouch. Glad to find these on Amazon and actually at a fairly decent price for retail.
