Review: wish i had taken pics. - as soon as i turned the radio on after installing these i knew i'd made the right choice. i wanted more bass but controlled tight bass Up front and they deliver in spades. my 06 ram 3500 has its own plastic adapters so i didn't use the included ones which really are more aimed at gm/chevy. i had a heavier higher power rated 6x9's which had more midrange and treble but bass, not so much. the ram doors are sealed pretty well and filled with foam inserts to increase audio quality while reducing road noise that works well so i was a bit surprised that after the swap i had to turn the bass levels down at the same volume. wired to a small vevor 4ch amp at 2ohm they are quite loud and very clear without the tinny sound the quadraxial speakers they replaced. vocals are warm and precise with clean highs that are never harsh. they were super easy to install with mounting holes lining up perfectly with the factory holes so no drilling. i've got 50-60 watts rms running thru them and find they handle the power very well at all volume. they're pioneer so ya know they work and really a great value. don't let outrageous claims fool you. Though, the caveat in my application is that my stock amp and speakers are working at 2-Ohm for the front-door channels, while these Pioneer component speakers are supposed to work best at 4-Ohm. 6.5” COAXIAL A-SERIES MAX TS-A653FH: For my application, these seem to output a slightly better and crispier sound. The caveat is that my stock amp is outputting 4-Ohm in these rear door channels, which is a better match for the 4-Ohm of these coaxial speakers. SPEAKER MOUNTS: Both sets of speakers came with easy-to-modify mounting brackets, which worked perfectly for my GM/Chevy car. This is a huge plus and facilitates the overall job. Fitment was perfect, I believe Pioneer ships standard with generic Chevy brackets, so just make sure and get the right brackets for your Make/Model vehicle. Highly recommended.
