Men's HFS II Barefoot Running Shoes

Big fan of Xero Shoes! This is my third pair so far. My first two pairs were the Prio, so this time I decided to switch it up and try something different with the HFS 2. These shoes are awesome! They have a little more tread than the Prio, and in my opinion, they’re definitely a better walking/running shoe. Either way, Xero Shoes are my go-to. I’ve tried other brands that cost twice as much, and honestly, they don’t compare to what you get with Xero Shoes. The quality, comfort, and overall value are hard to beat. Not to mention how convenient it is that you can order them on Amazon and have them delivered the next day. Definitely recommend!

I like the Xero SpeedForce II shoe more but this is a good shoe for someone new to barefoot. This shoe is a little to snug aswell but you just need to break it in.

Great shoes if you run correctly. If you're a heavy heel runner then take it slow and build up to sprints or you'll be in pain. True to size, light, and got my 10k down 2 minutes on day 1. I lift in Xero shoes, so I figured I'd try running. If they last 3-4 months then I'll be a customer for life. There's no chance they last 5,000mi though lol 500 will be top notch. No runner has ever had a pair of shoes for 5,000mi except Forest Gump.

Great shoe mechanically, but avoid the FW25 production run. The Performance (The Good): Mechanically, the HFS II is an incredible minimalist running shoe. The ground feel, wide toe box, and lightweight chassis are exactly what you want if you are committed to natural movement. The upper mesh and overall comfort are top-tier, which is why I actually keep a second pair in my rotation. The Failure (The Bad): Unfortunately, the material engineering on this specific production run (Batch Code: FW25) failed catastrophically. After only 71 days of standard pavement use, both the left and right outsoles suffered identical, bilateral structural breaches—literally wearing a clean hole straight through the rubber compound into the footbed. What makes this a clear manufacturing defect (and not standard wear) is the lack of uniform degradation. The perimeter lugs and the upper chassis are in near-pristine condition, meaning the center of the heel simply lacked the density or proper durometer rating to withstand normal force cycles. The Warranty Catch (The Warning): Be aware that the manufacturer's extended 24-month defect warranty and 5,000-mile sole guarantee are heavily dependent on purchase channel architecture. If you purchase items through independent third-party listings rather than direct fulfillment channels, you will be locked out of direct manufacturer warranty support. If you choose to buy the HFS II, inspect the tongue tag to ensure you didn't get the FW25 run, and ensure your acquisition pipeline lines up with a channel that offers full warranty lifecycle support when the rubber fails to meet specifications.

These shoes serve there purpose. Completely flat bottoms with no stack and a wider toe box, but thats the thing. Although these are considered wide toe boxed shoes, the toe box isn't all that much bigger. It’s wider, but still limits toe mobility. They also run a bit small (about half a size), so I would recommend sizing up a half size (e.g., US 10 -> 10.5). Other than that, they fit and feel great. I’ve only has these for about a week, so we will see how long they last.

This is the second pair I have purchased in 4yrs. Only because the original blue HFS ll were constantly unavailable. I had my eye on these red one so I jumped.at the discounted price. They have been the most comfortable and nonexistent shows i have ever worn. If you bare not familiar with barefoot shoes, understand they will give you foot fatigue in the beginning because your feet are adapting to a more natural gate of walking with less height in the sole. Once your feet remember their purpose you will come to love wearing them. When I can afford to i will get at least 4 more in this style as well as the boots. Great product for me and my feet.

I have the previous version of this shoe as well. Both run small in size. Get a 1/2 size bigger than you normally would. The HFS II is very different from the original. Do *NOT* think this is an upgraded or improved or better shoe than the original. It's night and day. The original is an outstanding BAREFOOT running shoe with a very thin sole through which your feet can actually feel the surface of the ground. I love running in those shoes but they are tiresome walking around in all day for hiking or city walking. The opposite is true with the HFS II. The sole is clearly stiffer, possibly slightly thicker too. It's an awesome shoe for the whole day for minor hiking, city walking, going to work or going out. It's also dressy enough to use for social events. But for running, it's a big NO for me because there's no barefoot feel to them. IMO...

I like barefoot shoes and I thought the Xeros looked a bit nicer than the other stuff out there. Originally ordered size 8.5, which is my size in Whitins and recommended by Amazon. The Xeros were too small so I went up to size 9. Fit seemed fine at first. Shoes are light and easy to wear out the box. After a few weeks I noticed bruising under my left big toe. Thought maybe I stubbed it or something so I kept wearing the shoes. Then later the same bruise appeared on my right toe. Never seen anything like that. The weird thing is it doesn't hurt. Might have something to do with how the toe box rubs against the top of my toes. Never had this problem after 3 pairs of Whitins. Just bought a 4th.

Very comfortable for every day wear.
