I was a tad bit nervous on ordering this as I had looked at many reviews and some people were not happy because the batteries were dead, etc, but I risked it because my boyfriend loves anything space and I procrastinated on our anniversary gift. I was madly impressed at how compact and secure the pieces were. The gift box is not all that impressive as the ribbon looks cheap with the loose, dried glue, but it is easily overlooked because of how beautiful the galaxy ball is, and the quality of the galaxy ball with the stand. There is also an extra stack of batteries that go with it, big plus! I do not understand how people were confused in the reviews as to where you change the batteries because I took one look and figured out where you replace them and how- not too difficult. Altogether, beautiful, quality gift that I am beyond excited to present to my boyfriend tomorrow! If one is not impressed with the box/ribbon, I'm sure you could ask the seller for box dimensions and you could customize your own gift box. If you are feeling unsure whether or not to order this, I hope my comment encourages you to just go for it! Cannot tell you how happy I am with this purchase! Would order again; thank you!!

My grandson LOVED this. It is beautiful. Easy to turn on and off with a slight twist of the battery on the bottom. Comes with extra batteries. One night we had it on for at least 6 hours. Still working fine. A really, really nice gift. It is not a toy. It is a beautiful piece of art and most importantly, a dream creator.

My little one loved this. I took out the batteries for safety reasons (they are very easily removed and I didn’t want my younger child to accidentally get ahold of one) and my kid still loved it (he has no clue it lights up, I’ll give him batteries when my younger child is old enough not to put things in mouth). It came with an extra set of batteries which is nice as the only way to turn off the light is to unscrew the battery area slightly to break the connection. This isn’t ideal because we accidentally left it screwed fully when testing and the batteries ran out after 24hrs. We were simply buying for the galaxy / crystal ball aspect so if the lights are a major selling point I’d rate it more 3.5 stars.

I bought this for my husband for our anniversary, I'm not sure if its because it was left in below zero in a mailbox overnight or if its just because it eats batteries for breakfast, but the batteries do not last very long in this thing. We haven't bought replacements yet so it could very well just be the batteries. But when it does light up its absolutely stunning, you definitely need it to be dark to be able to really see it but its almost mesmerizing when its on. Its still gorgeous when its not lit up because the inside is really detailed and pretty to look at by itself. I'm not so convinced its glass though, because we've accidentally knocked it off his desk and it was perfectly fine. not to mention it doesn't exactly feel like glass, it more so feels like acrylic or something of that nature. still wouldn't recommend playing catch with it obviously but its still a bit more on the sturdy side.

Got this for my son as a stocking stuffer and he loved it! We have it displayed in his room and him and his brother have looked through it and admire it frequently, they seem to enjoy it!

My son loved this as a bday gift. It’s a gorgeous decoration for his bedroom BUT like other reviews stated, the batteries only last for about a day. I refuse to constantly buy batteries for that life span. I found one for my daughter at a gift shop in Wisconsin Dells for $25-it has sea turtles and it’s chargeable with either batteries or usb. With the usb option she has it on constantly. I’m planning on finding a new one like that for my son to replace this one. If you want the lighting feature to work properly I’d look elsewhere.

It's just what they say, the problem is the light SUCKS the battery down REAL Fast! Mine has a chip in it, a SMALL tiny chip that I'm hoping no one else will ever notice, as it's still beautiful; however, if their handling isn't right they should fix it. So between the battery sucking down SO FAST and the chip, I'm scoring only on how much I really wanted this.

Good quality little light. Nice little cloth and foam gift box. This is the second of these I have purchased as a gift. This one was a gift for my dad who lives in a different state. I told him that where ever in the universe he may be, just look at the stars and think of me. It made him cry and he turns it on every night and falls asleep thinking of me. Not too big or bright. Just the right size.
