Level Lock (Wi-Fi) Smart Lock with Keypad (Satin Chrome) – No Longer Available for Sale

We looked at all the smart locks on Amazon, and after considering looks and features, we went with this lock. The packaging is very much in the Apple style, with clear instructions. I didn't measure the hole in my door for the lock, and the one I wanted to use was too small. Fortunately, I have three locks; the second one I chose had ample room. I did need to use my multitool and chisels to make room for the larger strike plate. Once installed, the software is easy to use. The only concern I still have is how much actual range the keypad has because I had to try several times to get it to link with the lock from less than ten feet away. The process is straightforward for the average DIY person. I know it's a challenge to measure the lock hole diameter in the winter because you must remove the existing lock for an accurate measurement. But not having to fumble with keys when coming home in the dark or rain and snow is well worth the effort. This is an excellent investment. Thank You, Level Lock, for making a great product.

Stop. Do not buy this lock. I bought three of theee sets. It is cheaply made. The keypad you need to buy separately is NOT meant to be kept outdoors. All three keypad have failed. The lock itself is so sensitive that the slightest bit of resistance will stop the lock from locking. When you open the lock, it takes forever for it to open. You barely even hear the little jingle telling you. It’s open everything about this work lock is wrong. The only good thing about this lock is that the box it came in. They’ve boxed it up like a Apple product really nice and fancy but what you’re actually getting is more like a $.99 lock waited nearly $1200 on these three and so disappointed.

This is a great device and value. Installed this in a family use sometimes rental. It has lots of customization to track and allow usage. It was easy to install both the keypad, connect, and the deadbolt. I like that folks can just use the app. Looks nice and durable. Very cool.

I bought this lock because I cannot abide the look or inconvenience of a traditional pin pad lock. Additionally, we live in a relatively remote area where the houses aren’t very close together, and thus need an extra layer of security and peace of mind. Level was the only company I could find (I’m sure there are more) that created a smart lock that looks like a normal lock. Pros: You can track who locks and unlocks your door (and whether they do so manually or via an app). If you buy level home (which comes with this package), you can lock and unlock your house virtually for visitors, which is super convenient! You can provide guest passes to guests if you’re having a party, etc. It’s a super cool product and a great idea. Cons: It’s finicky. Sometimes if your door isn’t closed quite correctly, it will say that it’s “unable to lock.” The installation process was awful, and I consider myself to be fairly handy. I ended up having to be on the phone with level support tightening and loosening bolts and screws for 45 minutes. I would recommend getting a professional to install it. Is it worth it for me? Absolutely. But I’m also very particular about my aesthetics; I don’t know if the effort is worth the payoff for everyone.

Works as poorly as expected. I bought this lock knowing that there were enough negative reviews that I wasn’t going to be particularly happy with the performance but for my specific installation I needed the small form factor and, let’s be honest, most other brand’s locks are hideous. My home is set up for HomeKit and this product simply doesn’t not interact well, if at all, with HomeKit even though it is advertised as being compatible. In about two months I don’t think I have successfully locked, or unlocked, this product using HomeKit once. It is successfully linked and I can see it in the app. Most of the time it shows as “no response” and occasionally if I open the Level app and then go back into the Home app I can get it to be responsive. Because it never works with HomeKit my automation to unlock when arriving home never works. I have to wait until I’m close enough for Bluetooth, open the Level app specifically, then open the lock. Yes, I have good signal. Yes, I have a satellite about 10ft away from the lock and the Connect + wall plug nearby as well. One thing that doesn’t work well but I know I can improve is the success rate of locking/unlocking. It’s a small lock so it’s not surprising it doesn’t have a lot of power to overcome any binding on the strike plate. Someday I’ll get around to modifying the installation to increase clearances but until then it’s 50/50 on whether it will lock and then, even at its loudest setting, it’s difficult to hear the chime telling you whether it was successful or not. Minor additional complaint, it’s not easy to differentiate between the chime for success and the chime for failure. To summarize, if you want a “pretty” and small lock and you have the patience to try two or three times every time you want to leave/enter your home then this is the lock for you. If you want a lock that works reliably and/or have a partner who does not have said patience…look elsewhere.

This lock was easy to install in place of my existing lock. I couldn’t believe how little time it took for me to switch my lock over to this smart lock! My favorite feature is the auto lock setting which gives me added peace of mind knowing the door will lock by itself based on my settings, especially when I forget to. The ability to share the keyless keypad code with anyone has made every day life easier! I can have contractors come when I’m not home by using a temporary access code. The smart lock has been awesome for my teenagers to use. They sometimes forget their house key, but now they don’t have to worry since they can use the app or the keyless keypad for entry. I highly recommend this smart lock, it has been a game changer for my family!

I loved the way this product looks. It wasn't much bigger than my normal deadbolt lock. The installation was going smoothly but the deadbolt has to be clear from touching anything. A handful of times I got an error and I figured it was how the door lined up so I made sure to clear everything and that the deadbolt lined up in the middle of the hole. Setup for the wifi was super easy as well as the app. The downside. The wifi + bluetooth being separate probably allows the lock to look the way it does but everything runs at an extremely slow pace. Auto Unlock (when it does work) has you waiting at the door for at least 15 seconds defeating the purpose. Hooking it up to home kit was a disaster. The app would not proceed and when support had me reinstalling everything and then wanting me to do it again I didn't bother. I honestly think this product has a lot of promise but for the price I'm just not sold. Also, the locking cylinder is supposedly trash. I'm thinking about a different deadbolt or perhaps the level with the fingerprint system to at least not have me going to my phone or keys to open the door.

There was an issue with the Level app, but customer support was able to fix it quickly. I was able to get the lock to work with the Level Connect wifi and the keypad with no problem. Plus, the lock meets my condo associations requirements as it matches the color of my previous lock.
