Westmark Cherry Pitter Tool “Kernex” - Heavy-Duty Cast Aluminum Pit Remover & Olive Pitter, German Ergonomic Seed Remover

Now I have some friends who told me not to even bother with a pitter. They claimed to have tried them all for their tart cherries, to no avail -- "none work!"...So they said. I'm pleased to report they were wrong. I chose this pitter specifically because I read in one of the reviews that it worked on smaller cherries. I have a native tart cherry that produces smaller fruit, so I was encouraged to give this one a try. This pitter does, indeed, work on cherries. I can see why some reviews say it doesn't work well: they are obviously trying to use it on full-sized monsters from the grocery store. That is not what this pitter excels at. This pitter was made for REAL cherries. The kind that grew wild all over the Eastern/Midwestern US (and still do, in some areas). And if you're lucky, the kind that may grow in your own backyard. I used this little guy to pit nearly 4 lbs (yes, that's FOUR POUNDS!!) in one go. Probably took me about an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and a half. Were my hands sticky and tired by the end? You betcha! But did they hurt? Nope, not at all. The spring mechanism worked fine, and the pits popped out beautifully with a satisfying "ping!" into the steel bowl with every punch. The cherries kept their lovely round shape, too -- which was important, because I was canning amaretto cherries for Christmas presents this year (Shh! It's a surprise!). For me, the presentation's just as important, and this lil' bebe did not disappoint. The pits popped out clean with hardly any flesh wasted. It's fun to use, pretty darn speedy, a great value for the money, and a great size to plop in my canning drawer (hardly takes up any space at all!). Just one thing: if you're thinking of buying it for supermarket cherries, DON'T. They're too big; it'll split them and you'll be sad.

The westmark cherry pitter tool is ergonomic, fully metal, easy to clean and easy to use. Used on cherries and it comes out great. Punches the seed out cleanly. There are splashes here and there. Think if you punch out the seed slowly the splashes are more contained. It fits average cherries well but once in a while there is a genomous cherry that is too big to fit. Used to deseed red dates aka jujubes and it worked well. Sometimes it takes a bit more hand strength and sometime the jujube is bigger than the placeholder. Considering it was design for cherries, it worked better than removing the seed myself.

Small tool that tucks away in a drawer. Easy to use. I'll be eating a lot more cherries from now on. 😋

Unreal. Never used a cherry pitter before. I’m a buy it for life type of guy and I don’t see how this won’t last. Built super well, high quality, works phenomenally.

I love cherries, but can't eat a whole bag, so I got this to de-stone and then dehydrate them for later snacks. Yes, it's messy like some other reviewers have said- I pitted mine in the kitchen sink. And the pits come out like 9mm projectiles! So beware of them rocketing around the sink. Only thing I wish were a little better was the arm opening wider to get super fat, juicy cherries in. Otherwise, easy to use and clean.

Planning on making a few batches of George Washington’s favorite drink, Cherry Bounce for Christmas gifts. This tool makes quick work of cherry pits and stems in one powerful motion. Also perfect for my toddlers to enjoy some cherries without the choking hazard. Now that I know how easy this thing makes pitting cherries I may even make a couple pies. Going to try it out on olives for charcuterie. Feels like it’s made of solid quality material, comes with a sleeve to keep it closed for storage. Would recommend. Heads up, it really blasts these pits out and splatters cherry juice so be prepared for that.

Best Cherry Pitter Ever! I ordered a cheap plastic pitter that did not work. I did more research and found this Kernex. It is well made and I always have confidence in German made products. It worked beautifully on large Renier cherries.

I bought this cherry pitter and I’m happy with my purchase. Gets the pit straight out almost every time. I cherry pit over my sink because it can splatter, but really it makes the process so much faster. The pitter is solid material and easy to use.

I like cherries, but I don't eat very many because the pits are annoying. I just received this item today and I am delighted! If you put the cherry in, stem down, and hold the stem while you squeeze the handle, the pit and stem will pop out cleanly leaving you with a perfect-looking cherry. For me, this is a game-changer. I fully expect this will work just as well with kalamata olives and others of similar size. In fact, you know the little + on the bottom of pitted olives? The hole in your cherry will be that shape, but almost invisible. Perfect for summer fruit salads. It's quite small so won't take up much space in your utensil drawer. It's made of aluminum and feels sturdy. My hands aren't very strong, but this was easy to use. Highly recommend.
