I have a recessed wall outlet about 1 1/2" wide and 5/8" deep - will the extended plug clear that?

If you plug it in with the outlets straight out (the face of the outlets parallel to the wall), the depth is 9/16th of an inch (not including the 3 metal prongs. So, it would be fully plugged in except for the last 1/16th inch of the metal prongs. However, if you rotate the outlets so that they face either up or down, the depth is reduce to 1/4 inch, which would leave 3/8 inch of the prongs exposed. Too much, in my opinion, to make good contact and keep the plug from falling out.

Can this be used outdoors for Christmas lights?

Unfortunately, this wall adapter mean to work in INDOOR. Great for living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and offices. We will not recommend this to be used for outdoors. Hope this helps!

What are the dimensions of this product - and I don't mean the dimensions given for the package size?

It's 3.5 inches side to side and when plugged in it sticks out about 1.75 inches.

Can this be used with hair hot tools?

I don’t see why not but I’ve already thrown mine into the trash. Darn thing stopped working pretty quickly. Wasn’t at all the solution I’d hoped for.
