Papo -Hand-Painted - Figurine -Medieval-Fantasy -Phoenix -36013 - Collectible - for Children - Suitable for Boys and Girls - from 3 Years Old

I know this is intended for kids, but I've always had an admiration for the phoenix and the mythos behind it. I volunteer in behavioral health recovery, the phoenix is a good representation of the idea that even when we have reached what feels like our end, we can still be born anew from the fiery destruction and ashes of our former lives and that our mental health condition or substance use disorder does not have to define the whole of our existence. We can recover, we can be born anew. So I bought this for myself and have it on my computer desk for inspiration. It's a flexible plastic, but not so much that you can pose it, it has no articulation. The durability is high except for the head feathers, they'd probably tear off easily, but the painting and detail of artwork is a good 3.5 or 4 out of 5. Again it's clearly intended for preteen kids to actually play with and not the quality of a collector's statuary item you'd put in a case for display purposes.

Once again I needed something for some up and coming table top gameplay and as a lover of birds in general this Phoenix is going to be proudly displayed on my desk or bookshelf. I am happy with the size of the bird and the color is perfect all over. I took a few photo's to show off it's size and the only minor thing I saw is the tail is back heavy so it leans back slightly but only a few seconds of very light bending corrected that so worth mentioning yes but hardly a problem at all. Very impressed and very happy.

Quite the description. Marketers are paid to make the ordinary sound extraordinary. The Phoenix marketer did her job well.

I have three figurines of the Phoenix: Papo, Rich Boxer and Safari. The Papo figurine and the Rich Boxer figurine are identical, the Rich Boxer figurine being cheaper. Both stand up with no problem. Both are beautifully painted. The Safari figurine is the largest and has translucent wings. It is the least lyrical of the three. It is, however, very beautiful, well-made and stable.

Honestly this is a way nicer figure than I had expected! The colors are vibrant, it's able to stand without any wobbling! A great gift for mythology fans, and D&D fans.

Kinda pricey for a rubber toy..

I love the phoenix the colors are bright and it is sturdy. Thankfully, it is sturdy because Amazon sent it in just a padded envelope and the tail had nothing around it the wings and feet were in a plastic container but the tail could easily have broken off, thankfully it didn't . I would recommend sending this in a small box in the future.
