Honey and Lemon - Pack of 8 Lozenges

As a secondary school teacher surrounded by germ-spreading teenagers all day, I'm constantly battling some sort of throat issue. After trying numerous remedies, these Honey Lemon Strepsils have become my absolute go-to. The honey lemon flavour is pleasant without being sickly sweet like some throat sweets. You can actually taste the honey rather than just artificial flavouring, which makes them much more palatable when you're taking them frequently. What sets these apart from regular throat sweets is how effectively they numb the pain. Within minutes of popping one in my mouth, that horrible razor-blade feeling starts to subside. The effect typically lasts about 40-50 minutes for me, which gets me through most of a teaching period without having to constantly sip water or struggle to project my voice. The pack of 36 is brilliant value compared to smaller packs. I keep one box in my desk drawer, one in my handbag, and one at home - essential preparation for winter term! The individual blister packaging keeps them hygienic and prevents them sticking together like some loose lozenges do. I particularly appreciate that they work for both viral and bacterial throat infections. During a particularly nasty bout of tonsillitis while waiting for antibiotics to kick in, these were the only thing that made swallowing bearable. One unexpected benefit is that they seem to help temporarily clear congestion too. Not sure if that's the menthol or something else, but it's a welcome bonus when you're dealing with a full-blown cold. Do they actually fight infections as claimed? Hard to say definitively, but I do find I recover faster when using these regularly at the first sign of throat discomfort versus trying to tough it out. Only downside is they're not suitable for young children, so can't share them with my 6-year-old when he's poorly. If you're prone to sore throats or work in an environment where you need your voice to function (teachers, call centre staff, etc.), these are honestly worth keeping on hand at all times. They've saved my lessons more times than I can count!

I always keep some of these in my bag i as they are a real life saver when one gets a tickly cough when in the wrong place like a library or church. They taste really nice and not too sweet and the casing they come in is very strong so it protects the lozenges well.

I bought this lozenges for mild throat pain/infection; this is not the strongest Strepsils medicine but it's still effective. The lozenges are quite big and dissolve slowly in the mouth. It has a nice taste in my opinion and so it makes the medicine bearable. The medicine's effective for a few hours but be careful not to take more than the recommended dose as it can have a laxative effect as a side effect.
