womens 2 Pc Cruel Seas Pirate Captain Dress Costume

I wear a size 8 petite, I ordered a size medium and it fits wonderfully. Very flattering with the gold and black overskirt and really hides my middle age pooch. The dress has a side zipper which makes it look better, with more shape to the outfit. The lacing on the front are really just for decorations and has a nice long black ribbon. The top is not too low and for extra warmth, I plan to wear a long sleeve tank underneath. The front skirt is a little short on me, but no more so than a mini skirt and the longer length in the back looks cute. I will wear either tights or fishnet stockings with it and black bathing suit bottoms in case the wind blows my dress up. With my high heel black boots I will be ready for action! The overskirt is black with super bright gold skulls on the material - very eye catching. It all lays very nicely because there are slight gathers at the side seams. The material for the sleeves and skirt is not hemmed. You can't even tell and if the sleeves are long, it would be easy to take off an inch or so. The product listing says two pieces, but the belt must be the second piece as the dress is all together. I tried it on without the belt, and looks great. The belt has lots of holes which makes it fit any size. The overall look is great even without a belt, but I will probably wear anyway. The outfit arrived promptly and was packaged very nicely. They had paper over the black and gold overskirt to keep it from sticking together, nice touch. I reshaped the collar a little with my fingers to make it perfect. I bought a very inexpensive pirate hat to wear, added burgundy tulle in a band, big bow, and tails hanging down the back. I attached some bright gold coins, feathers and I am ready. Would I buy again? Absolutely. My favorite part is that it looks sexy, but nothing shows and my mother or grandkids will not be embarrassed. A LADY pirate is the best kind when you are 65 years old.

I purchased this costume for Halloween last year and received so many compliments. It looks great, and the quality is nice. The dress fits true to size. I have zero complaints or recommendations for improving this product.

After searching for the perfect lady pirate costume, I had my eye on this one. It is not as revealing as some other options out there which is more my style. I used the size chart and chose a medium which seems to be the right size for me (5'6", 135#) with a little room to spare. I am not super thin and found the style to be flattering with the layers of fabric and the sash. I was afraid the length in the front would be too short for my liking, but it's not bad, falls a few inches above the knee. Plus with tall boots, I think this will look good. The collar is a little strange. With hair down, it is covered unfortunately. The collar itself is stiff and somewhat able to flex and position it, but the black fabric on the front of the dress flares out to the side. Perhaps I can make it stay put somehow like the costume on the model. The seams on the inside of the dress and the sleeves are a bit scratchy, but after a bit of wearing it I noticed it less. Wearing a slip or 3/4 sleeves underneath might help, but I live in a warm climate, so not an option. It is not so bad that I would return it. The belt looks nice with the dress but after putting it on one time, there was an immediate permanent crease in the belt alongside the notch I used, not a big deal if you always use the same notch I suppose. There is a long tail of belt hanging and I'm not sure how to secure it. Overall, I really do like this costume - the style and how it fits as well as the quality of the fabric and craftsmanship. The price is a bit high, and it has only a few minor shortcomings. It was great for Halloween trick or treating! I wore it without the belt. Very comfortable the whole time. I was a little too warm with the dress and my hate, but again I live in a warm climate so that can't be helped. I received many compliments!

I bought this for our Halloween party this year, and I have to admit, for the money, I did not expect the quality to be very good. I was very excited when I opened the package and found that the cloth was actually thick and very well made. The bodice is nice because since it laces up, you can loosen or tighten it as needed for fit or lift. The skirt is pretty short in the front so I will most likely need to buy some tights to wear under it, but I am fairly modest in dress. The red fabric came fairly wrinkled, but it's nothing that a cool iron won't fix. I ordered a small, and it fit perfectly. I am 5'4, 115 lbs and have a large bust. Over all, I am very pleased with this costume. I will post a picture after Halloween to show the quality and fit.

Love the fit and the quality of the costume. Looked great on as well. It does not come with a hat but that was an easy add on.

Was excited about all the positive reviews but it did not work for me. The top through the chest and arms was rather tight while through my waist and hips was too loose and not very flattering. It was also too warm. I am 5'4" - weigh 135 with a curvy build. I was fine with the length in front. The colors were great. The sash is attached and not detachable so you cannot adjust it to snug it in. Unfortunately, it just hung on me through the hips and waist. I did loan it to a friend who was ok with it but also stated it was way too warm.

I’m 5’9’ 159 lbs. A little snug but it feels like it will loosen with some wear. The arms are the most snug but that’s okay, it makes my arms look smaller ( who doesn’t want that!) It can be challenging to get on since it is one piece, but with some patience it’s worth it. I love the skirt as it flows and allows some twirling - very feminine feel. Good purchase- hopefully I will be the only one on our Disney cruise wearing this particular pirate outfit!!
