You can google what vitamins work best, or read my review (just kidding!)
Consumer groups have a lot of info on line about which vitamins are most effectively absorbed. I'll save you the pain of what I went through reviewing the top 100 vitamins out there: Efficacy of vitamins ranges over a wide scale. The best cost perhaps $3 a day to use. The worst do the job 10% or less as well as the best ones. Name brand rarely coincides with effectiveness. These are powder in a capsule, so they absorb rapidly and do their job well. Cost is reasonable, too. What I found after a lot of research, was these occupy a unique niche between the dollars-a-day designer vitamins and the pennies a day junk, offering nearly the performance of the former at nearly the price of the latter. Enjoy! It's great having quality vitamins and not paying exorbitant prices. Recommended - and used - for years. "It's all the vitamin you'll ever need!" Edited 2019: Re: the "all the vitamin you'll ever need" - not saying it's perfect, just a lot of vitamin for a few bucks. A commenter prompted me about vitamin K2, and as a result, here's a few thoughts: Nota Bene: Any multivitamin is a compromise solution dreamed up by a chemist who decided how much of this, and how little of that, you actually need. The following is for the more in-depth consumer, doesn't really change my mind on how good these vitamins are. A person might want to have more D3, and K2 with it depending upon what sunlight you get, and subsequent direction of calcium to the right places once you take the D3... The folic acid in the vitamin is synthetic, and twice what is in most multivitamins - and if you agree with those who think synthetic folic acid is a cancer risk, or are a person who cannot process the synthetic folate, this might bother you. Of course, if you need or agree with those that say folic acid prevents birth defects, this might make you happy. YMMV... Underdosed on magnesium, possibly a bit strong with the force on Vitamin A. Also a bit powerful overall if your diet is already pretty decent. When you get good fresh clean food, these can seem to become a little tougher to stomach. Of course, that probably means you don't need them as much. That's actually a good thing, and proof that they are doing something. All caveats aside, nothing is perfect, and these are way better than the general run, for way less bucks. STILL highly recommended after all these years! To your health!

My Favorite Multivite
I have been true to this brand of multivitamin for many years. Originally, I was instructed to take it by a nutritionist. However, I have gone into a store that carried many brands of vitamins, and when I compared the components, I still preferred Twinlab. Twinlab makes a variety of multivitamins, including with and without iron, and a one-a-day and a two-a-day variety. I have chosen the one-a-day version because it does not load me up with the B vitamins excessively. I have had negative experiences with high levels of B vitamins. The most annoying is insomnia when I take too much vitamin B6, but I have also experienced the "niacin flush", where you get a hot flash after ingesting a high dose of niacin. I do need extra B12, so I take it in another supplement. If you need a hypoallergenic vitamin made with high standards for the ingredients, with a good spectrum of minerals, then this is the one for you. Be advised, however, that no multivitamin will provide you with sufficient doses of calcium and magnesium. These are minerals that your body needs, that you usually do not get in sufficient quantities in an American diet. The reason is that these minerals are bulky, and will not fit in a multivite tablet or capsule. Calcium for a woman entering menopause consists of two big tablets per day. The same with magnesium, which you need for your bones. So take your multivite, but look into taking supplementary calcium and magnesium, as well. Your needs will vary with age and gender. After reading several other people's comments, I see that upset stomach is a common side effect of this supplement. I have always taken them right at the same time as my meals, and I have had no trouble along those lines. If you read the bottle, you will find that there is as much as 1667% of your daily needs for the B vitamins. Actually, this is kind of low for the health food brands of vitamins. As I mentioned above, B vitamins do have side effects, so if you want to try this multivite, maybe you should start out with a small bottle to see if it agrees with you.

The new formulation is distinctly inferior
I have been using these multivitamins for decades and liked them very much. They are one of the very few multivitamins that have even close to the correct relative proportions of the B-complex vitamins. But recently, as I understand it, the company came under new management. These were unavailable for awhile, and when they reappeared on Amazon I bought them again. Well, things have changed, and not for the better. The bottle is plastic, not glass, for whatever thatโs worth. The biggest change is in the vitamin capsules themselves. If I remove them from the jar and put them into my pill-holder, they start to turn brown within one single day. Now, the vitamins always did start to get brown flecks in them when they were getting old, Iโm talking 6 months or more. That is not this. These vitamins go brown through and through, and it happens very quickly. Thinking it might be moisture (but how, in my airtight pill holder?) I bought silicon gel bags to put in with the capsules in the holder, but that doesnโt help a bit. I donโt know whether theyโve changed the nature of the gelatin capsule itself or the composition of the vitamin powder within, but this quick browning does not seem a good sign. Unless TwinLab addresses this problem I shall be seeking out another brand in the future.

Quality and affordable.
this is the multi for us, it has a great potency, and enough vit b to ensure the "bowl is golden" as that's what happens if you get more than you need of Vit B. Really like Twin Labs brand supplements.

Quality product BUT always out of stock
Very good formulation WITHOUT IRON. Unlike other once daily supplements, this product has an amount of each nutrient that mostly exceeds minimum daily recommendations. Well balanced formulation. The only issue is it's availability. Many times it's out of stock

Noticeable Improvement. Best Vitamin Yet!!!!
Normally I never notice any effects from taking vitamins but this TwinLabs vitamin did two things I noticed. We get cat scratches from time to time so we have healing on sores that take place. I had some sores that were taking awhile to heal up even with Neosporin but as soon as I started the TwinLabs they healed up right away. The other item was each morning when I brush out my hair I had a large bunch of hair to take out of the brush. After taking TwinLabs each morning brushing has nearly no hair in the brush at all. (Picture shows Daily Hair Loss before and after taking this TwinLabs product) After nearly a month with little or no hair loss with this product my wife, a retired hairstylist, also started using this TwinLabs product and found that she is experiencing greatly reduced hair loss also. Over the last five years she had bought every product available to prevent hair loss. None of which ever worked and have now been tossed in the trash. Thank you TwinLabs for a great product. (We are both in our 80s)
