Makermotor 3/8" D Shaft Variable Speed Electric Gear Motor 12VDC Max. 50RPM

My husband has been looking for a motor like this one for a while. This motor seems like it's very sturdy and I do believe that the value for the money is there. It is for us anyway. It turns our homemade fish scaler just perfectly and that makes us very happy!

Bought this set in October 2021 for a project I was building for a customer. Everything worked as it should without exceptions. I ended up overpowering the motor and stripping the gears. I order another 2 and immediately broke another. The owner of this company reached out to me, actually called and discussed the problem as well as 20+ emails and helped me determine not only do I need a much larger motor, but also helped me devise some simple ways to mitigate future failures with my project! The motor is great. The speed controller works, but the power pulses are large and spaced apart enough that I get the feeling that they are sort of "hammering" the motor. Maybe the motor is designed to absorb that, I don't know. A different speed controller I tried has a much smoother action and allows the motor to spin a little slower, too.

It is very sturdy and spins the way I needed

This motor is both sturdy and quiet. The drawing linked in the listing was very helpful with designing a bracket to mate it to my application. But most important of all, when I needed some assistance, the customer service I received from Makermotor was absolutely exemplary.

Great little motor and controller. Great torque from a 6amp motor.
