It bought this tool to replace a rivet on my tool box that had come lose and because I figured it would just be nice to have around. It worked great I ran a handful of rivets through it both the 5/32 size and the 1/8in and they seem to be working great. I have not experienced the mandrel getting lodged in the back of the tool as some have.

I liked that this tool appears to be heavy duty, is of a good size and comes with four interchangeable rivet heads. A wrench is included to change out the heads and is conveniently carried in the inside of one handle. While testing it on a metal plate, I was successful in riveting four 3/16 x 3/8 rivets. Then I tried an 1/8 x 1/4 rivet and the mandrel became lodged in the rivet gun when it broke from the rivet. I worked with it for a few minutes but it was not coming loose. So I ended up having to remove the rivet head from the tool and use a large drill to push the mandrel out the back, which was difficult as it was tightly wedged. I understand nothing is perfect, so I tried two more times and had the same result. Thankfully I was at home testing it out and not in the field depending on this tool. For someone who tinkers a little and rarely uses a rivet tool this might pass with a little frustration. But for someone who uses a rivet tool often, I suggest investing in a better model. I will be returning this tool and reordering something else. I hope this helps with your future purchasing,

My old rivet gun died. I replaced it with this model. The handles are far apart when you start squeezing them together, pretty much too far apart for me to do this one handed. It also seemed like the pressure needed to set the rivet was much higher than my other gun. The pointy bumps on the handles isn't a feature either. If you need to use two hands to squeeze a 3/16'' rivet they are extremely uncomfortable. I experienced 20-50% of the rivet shanks breaking off in the middle of the shank rather than pulling out of the rivet. I rarely experienced this with my old gun using these same rivets. I was going to try using the rivets that came with the gun, but they were too short for my job.
