Sturdy but elegant design. Somehow feels good in your hands - a very pleasing shape and design. I use it most for my daily salad so I can see all of what I'm eating. For pasta, I heat the bowl first (either pouring boiling water over it or by popping it in the microwave) - if you don't heat it, a hot food will cool down too quickly. My only quibble (and the reason it didn't get five stars) is that there's a small, rough bump on the base. It's a minor flaw but it means I wouldn't leave it on a scratchable surface. Overall, if you're looking for an understatedly elegant but sturdy bowl to set your food off attractively, I'd recommend you give this a try.
