Description

The orange calcite rock is a type of orange-colored calcite, which is derived from the calcite family of minerals. Calcite is the primary mineral to be found in rock formations such as limestones and stalagmites (found in caves). This particular specimen is slick and smooth, with great variation in the deepness and lightness of the orange coloring. It's large enough to serve as a paperweight, and makes for a great sample to be passed around in earth science classrooms. Makes a great gift for the mineral collector in your family!
