Love this moderately priced Elton collection. This is one of the best buys I have ever made.I love Elton John and this 3 cd collection is absolutely fabulous! I love it!

I am enjoying this collection of Elton's songs very much, it helps to put many of his songs on one CD so I. don't have to carry multiple CD's in my car. The price was reasonable, and of course my prime membership brought it to my door quickly!

The majority of the reviews on this listing are for the Vinyl and then the MP3. Very few reviews for the 3 CD disc set, which is what I bought. Amazon combines all of the review onto one page which affects the rating and can be confusing to others. First off the sound quality of this is excellent. I have many of Elton John's earlier greatest hits compilations from the 1990's, but this one is superior in sound as well as it includes most of his biggest hits. Strangely enough they left out "Levon" and "The Border Song", but chose to put in some less than stellar Elton John tunes on the third disc, which they could've easily put on that disc instead of those songs. Cut out, "Written in the Stars" and "Live Like Horses", and add in "Levon" and "The Border Song". As for the set itself, it's not as fancy as it appears in this listing. It's also a burgundy red color, not the violet that appears in the listing. Not that that matters, but mentioning it to those that it would. I thought the collection would be a bit fancier with lyrics and bios and history included the way many greatest hits collections include now. But that's absent from this. You basically get the songs and that's it. But in the end that's all that matters. All of the major Elton John classics are here. There are 51 songs total with 17 songs each on three discs. I wrote out all of my favorite Elton John songs that are a must have to me that are included this and it came to 35 songs, which means 16 tracks I didn't care for all that much, but that's pretty amazing for an artist to have that many songs that I love. And these are his classics. If you don't have any Elton John music, then I'd recommend the 3 disc set. If you have his older works, then you may want to upgrade to a remastered sound that is evident with these songs. I'd give this set 4 1/2 out of 5 stars mainly for leaving out "Levon" and "The Border Song", when they could've easily removed some of the throw away tracks that exist on the Disc 3. Also this collection doesn't have any bells and whistles, when they could've sprung for some nicer packaging.

I had to return the first set because the second cd had a crack in it. But, when I got the replacement set (Amazon sent it right away), I had to pull out my needle-nose pliers to make sure I could retrieve CD2 from the box. Don't worry, you can still store the second cd in any of the outer slots by doubling it up with CD1 or CD3. I also wish I had known that the version of Don't Let the Sun Down on Me was the duet version with George Michael. That's the one I wanted, but you won't get that from the main Amazon description. In any case, this collection has everything you could possibly want from Elton John's illustrious career!

After watching "Rocketman," the fantastic musical bio of Elton John's rise to superstardom, I wanted to get a collection of his music that was as close to complete as there was available. I grew up listening to his hits on the radio and bought several of his songs on 45 record singles. Listening to Casey Kasems' America's Top 40 in the '80's was always fun on the weekends and Elton John always had some great songs climbing the charts. I remember listening to these songs on the radio, on my stereo record player, my sister's 8-trck tape player and watching the kids dance to Elton's songs on Dick Clarke's American Bandstand.Listening to these songs again are great and the audio quality is superb on all three of the discs in this set. If you want as many of Elton John's best songs "Rocketman," "Benny and the Jets," "I'm Still Standing," Nakita," etc. and rare hits "Victim of Love," "Mama Can't Buy You Love," etc. this is the collection to add to your music collection. I've added several of these great Elton John songs to my '80's music playlist from this CD collection which I listen to while I'm on my computer and I'm very please with the sound quality when the songs play.
