I bought this plate in off-white for my disabled wife as I was unable to find a similar shaped porcelain one. Although quite small, it looked okay but was found to be too light and just slid around the table. Nevertheless, I decided to get a second, just for standby. I ordered another off-white to match but an ivory one was delivered. I returned that as not as ordered. I submitted a further order for off-white and again received an ivory one, so returned that. Those returns proved beneficial. The upper surface of the place is not smooth and on first use for a Bolognese it was badly stained. I even resorted to a strong solution of bleach but couldn't remove the stains. Had this been a cheap plastic plate from Poundland, I would not have been surprised by the staining but this plate cost £16.84. My verdict is that this plate is not fit for it's described purpose, is of poor quality and is far too highly priced. Add that to Amazon's whoefully inadequate order processing and this is probably my worst experience with Amazon. I did get a refund for both returns, so at least that part was okay. I subsequently found elsewhere a set of 4 stoneware lipped, larger and heavier plates for a little more than this single plate, so at least there was a bright side to the repeat incorrect order fulfillment.
