Useful and colorful
This Kavu bag is really nice. The pockets are well thought out and the small pocket on the back is perfect for a small wallet. The rope strap is sturdy and yet very comfortable even when wearing a tank top. I like the addition of the exterior pocket for a water bottle or gloves and a knit hat in cold weather. There are so many color ways to choose from it is easy to understand why many reviewers end up with a collection of these bags. This pack also is easy to stuff in luggage empty for use on day trips while on vacation.

Great improvement over previous Kavu design
This is a great bag. The design is larger than the other Kavu slings and more practical. The squared off bottom allows it to hold a lot more and to stand up when I set it down. I love it.

Rope Sling vs Paxton
If you’re like me you see that there are several different versions of this bag with slightly different names. The one I purchased was made out of a polyester material, not too thin, not too thick. It really is not a large pack/purse. The pocket on the inside of the main pouch is not large enough to accommodate a 7+ iPhone. However, the large pocket w/zipper on the front is. The small Velcro pocket is perfect to toss your keys in. When you’re looking at the bag head on there is the main large pocket on the left side - two small pockets in the middle - and on the right side there is a smaller pocket the smaller pocket on the right side of the front is not large enough to accommodate my 32 ounce Hydro flask. This is really a day pack and it was made substantially heavier by the simple inclusion of my wallet. This is a very small pack and if you needed to bring an extra shirt or pair of pants I don’t think you would be able to put anything else in this bag. I also purchased the Paxton pack. The purpose for this purchase was to be a day pack to carry the stuff I need for my kids for a day out. The Paxton pack is my choice for the following reasons. The mesh pouch in the Paxton Paxton large interior pocket goes from the top of the bag to the bottom allowing you to keep much larger items secure in that main compartment. It also has a pocket built into the back panel that is large enough to accommodate a 7+ iPhone. The zipper pocket on the front of the packs and pack has a lanyard and it so you can hook your keys on it also that pocket goes all the way from the bottom to the top of the bag so it is not just a pocket on the bottom portion you could put something in there that is longer. The zipper pocket on the front of the packs and pack has a lanyard and it so you can hook your keys on it also that pocket goes all the way from the bottom to the top of the bag so it is not just a pocket on the bottom portion you could put something in there that is longer. It does also have a mesh cupholder however it is not a great size for me but I will still use it for kids cups. I would definitely be able to pack diapers, wipes, snacks, my items, and still be able to wing this thing around easily. The bag seem to be made very similar, water resistant, ripstop polyester material. I spent about two days pouring over different reviews and comparisons of all of the different bags and my advice is this-if you want something cute get the rope swing or one of the variations of that bag. If you want something a little bit more functional get the Paxton pack.

Roomy and well made.
This bag is sturdy in a good sense. It is well constructed. The main compartment is roomy, and it has a front zipper pocket, a zipper in the side seem that can hold keys or other items. It is comfortable to wear, and the strap can be adjusted to be longer or shorter as needed.

Kavu & Kate BFFE ❤️🎒
I adore these bags so much! I have 2, & I bought 3 for Christmas to give my kids & a fam member ☺️ Everyone is enjoying them! I usually use a fanny pack for errands, but when I need to travel with more or go to work- it’s the perfect size for me. Comfortable to sling up on your shoulder, carries the bottle upright & snug, sits up straight when you set on the table, easy to slide to front to access the mini pocket I store my phone & ear buds in. Even when I have it packed I don’t have issues accessing or digging to find things because of the wide and angled zipper. The teardrop shape design is cute & makes it feel less bulky (considering now much you can actually fit inside!). Lots of great patterns & I'm happy with the quality ❤️

Paxton vs Rope Bag
Let me start off by saying I am writing two reviews at once right now for comparison purposes. I purchased both the original Rope Bag and the Paxton pack, in order to see which would work best for me. Scroll down for TL;DR. I am mainly looking for a bag to use when I am out with my 3yo. I fancy myself a “prepared” packer, and truthfully my goal is to carry as much as possible to fit every potential scenario, but in the smallest size/weight possible because stuff is heavy. I realize this goal might make little sense to you. Moving on. I’ve had every bag imaginable from Ju Ju Be and Kipling and a fair number of other brands as well, always in search of the “perfect” bag. Right now that would be a backpack, preferably sling style for easy access. If this were a perfect world the back of the bag would be mesh for better breathability but I settled on the Kavu brand after a fair amount of research, and decided the other features outweighed that, so here we are. At this stage, I typically carry the following: For my daughter: Folding potty seat, wipes, hand sanitizer, sunblock, mosquitNo stickers and/or bands, tissues, a first aid kit, a pouch of snacks, her water bottle, a hat, and/or a light sweater. Some type of toy usually makes its way in. For myself, I *must* carry my wallet, phone and keys. I *like* to carry my personal-planner, a pen, a water bottle for me, sometimes a snack, and frankly whatever else I can cram in without encumbering myself. I am often also tasked with carrying my husband’s wallet and inhaler, and sometimes his keys. I’m generally using this bag when we have the car, so there are additional items there, but I also hate to have to go back to the car when I need something, so I usually carry everything except for a spare change of clothes and an umbrella. Now, onto the bags. Both are canvas/cotton material. I thought the Paxton was more of a vinyl, and it is not. I will miss the rain-repellent feature of the Kipling bags, but I’ll get around that. Both feel about the same when loaded with the same items. The Rope Bag actually seemed to sit a bit more comfortably, in that I had to tighten the Paxton more to get it to lay flat, but it was a barely discernible difference and both stayed close to my body which is what I wanted. I thought the ropes might hurt but they did not. The Paxton is larger. It’s not very significant if you lay them side by side, but when you pack them you will notice. Both are really only suited to right-handed people. Not a deal-breaker for me as I am a rightie, but I would have liked being able to switch the load from shoulder to shoulder. It is worth noting that they both sit well on the left shoulder if you are carrying them like you would a regular backpack and letting it dangle; very close to the body and stays behind your arm pretty easily. 7th grade me and my Jansport knocking around would’ve been jealous. Anyway, I packed them both up using all of the required items above (I will try to add a photo but Amazon isn’t cooperating right now). The Rope bag did hold everything, but that was it. None of my own preferred extras, and my husband is SOL. Also, everything was packed in there pretty well, which is why the Rope Bag had to be returned; my entire reason for wanting a sling bag was for easy and quick access without having to take the bag off, so if I needed to take it off and/or take stuff out to dig for what I wanted, the bag just wasn’t going to work. As far as fitting everything in, the Paxton has a sort of base inside the bottom, so it stands up a bit more easily than the Rope bag. This made packing a bit easier as the first aid kit fits perfectly right there. It also meant that I could throw in a few extras if I needed to, like my water bottle and planner, and still not have it be quite so tight as the Rope bag. Also, the Paxton has the key fob, which I have become attached to (no pun intended) from my Kipling bags. Last, that bottle pocket cannot be understated. It’s not in the best place I suppose, but it’s fine, and it fits my daughter’s Funtainer bottle perfectly. My S’Well falls right out when I’m moving around but I am so pissed at that bottle that I really don’t care if it dies. Having the bottle pocket there created the additional space that I needed inside, and the Paxton was the clear winner. TL;DR I kept the Paxton. Paxton is better for parents/2 person use, Rope is cute for personal necessities. If I were doing a theme park the Paxton would win by a long shot, but I would probably just take my Kipling Ravier or Caity for something like Disney. I hope this helped someone!

Love this bag!
I love this bag! Well made, stylish and sturdy. Great every day bag, I am not a purse girl so this helps me lug around my stuff in style. I like the front pocket for easy access and I like that I don’t have to take it off I can just slide it around to access the inside. The water bottle holder is the only issue for me it would be nice if it had a clip and strap to secure it so it doesn’t fall out, luckily the bag is big enough that I can just store it inside.

Your search for the perfect bag is over. This is the one.
If you’re wondering if you need this bag or not I’m here to tell you that you absolutely need it. It holds everything. It’s like a bottomless pit. It’s not even filled to the top in the pictures and it contains 5 diapers, wipes, 1 gym outfit, a pair of tennis shoes, wallet, keys on the key fob holder (neat), lotion, makeup bag, planner, pens (it has a pen holder 😮) and some smaller random things like headphones. There’s a pocket in the back for your phone and another mesh pocket inside. It’s easy to wear to an all day event, like the zoo. The ONLY thing I am disappointed in is the color difference. It’s much brighter in person.
