Excellent food and a good source of protein - Also, complete comparison with other Hikari foods
Tubifex worms are usually gobbled up by most fish who need protein in their diet. I completely soak them in aquarium water and drop some in a little at a time. I typically use a small saucer of aquarium water for soaking and a small spoon to drop in a few worms at a time. Then I just pour in the remainder after most of the worms are gone from the saucer. Below, I've listed the entire nutrient content of tubifex worms. Also, to help you see the differences in some of the foods Hikari offers, I've written lists of nutrient content as they appear on some other product containers. I know, you will probably glaze over after a few moments due to all the scientific terms. However, my hope is that you can make educated decisions about which foods you want to purchase based on what I've recorded here. The six foods I listed below are products we actually use ourselves. First, there are a few things that I have noticed about the other foods I've listed: - Of all the Hikari products I've worked with, the blood worms contain the most protein (65%). - The algae wafers contain "bakery products." I wanted to know exactly what the bakery products are, so I e-mailed Hikari about this. They wrote back and said the following: "This is a proprietary ingredient that we have identified as containing higher levels of lipids that fish can readily utilize and also offers an efficient carbohydrate component." - The Hikari micro pellets contain monosodium glutamate. I really wanted to know why this is in their fish food (MSG typically has a negative reputation). I e-mailed Hikari about this. They wrote back and said the following: "You must have an older package of the Micro Pellets as MSG has been removed from all of our products as a result of many concerns raised by US consumers. We have used this ingredient in the past, in very small amounts, as a flavor enhancing ingredient. As you may know, this is a commonly used human food ingredient in Asian markets and other parts of the world also. We have done extensive testing before including it (as is the case with any ingredient we use) and found no negative impact on the fish in the short term or long term." All of my fish, snails, frogs, and shrimp, absolutely love this!
This is one of those amazing products that fishkeepers find every now and then. The owner at my LFS and I joked about how tasty these "cereal blocks" are :P Clowning aside, all my water creatures love these. You can either stick your nasty human hands in your tank and stick the dried worm blocks to the glass (count 10 seconds and then carefully swipe your fingers so it doesn't get stuck to you), or just drop them in the tank. My favorite thing to do with these is to feed my African Clawed frogs, I got my male and female trained to come out to the surface and rip them off my fingers (one time my female missed and swallowed my finger, it was hilarious). If you have kids or visitors, this is a fun show and a huge hit with them. One thing I did notice and I think is worth mentioning... Most Hikari products I've bought until now are produced in Japan... These freeze-dried series all seem to be a Product of China (but the freshness-hermetic-seal has Japanese writing on it (oi, don't troll me...) My water buddies don't seem to care, but, just pointing that out.

Fish love 'em. Nice healthy light treats. Good value. Little goes a long way!
First impressions: Another well packaged, quality fish food from Hikari. At first, I was reluctant to buy this, but now, after several months of using this on and off for fish "treats", I'm really considering this as a mainstay fish item going forward. Why? Well, the fish really love these square shaped treats made of dehydrated little worms. I simply drop in two or three of the worm "squares" and the fun begins. The fish immediately go after the food and usually will seize a single worm square and the chase will begin in the tank to see who can eat it all. LOL. Fish love these as much as the blood worms. Should you buy this? Well, that depends if you want to please your fish. They will fight over these treats. They are nutritious and make a great middle of the day snack, and are very light, so the tank won't foul. I'd say, given the high quality, and reasonable price, this is recommended for the fish enthusiast. Give it a try!

Fish love them
There’s a lot of food in this container so it will last forever and my fish absolutely love them. They’re semi picky eaters and are now coming out more since eating these.

Fresh
Ok, so if you're familiar with freeze dried tubifex worms, the shipping was solid, and the cubes are dense. The end. If you've never fed this, the size of the worms are perfect for smaller fish like Cardinal or Neon Tetras, Rosy, Cherry and Gold Barbs, etc. You can either firmly press it against the glass and "suction"/anchor it in one place so the fish all frenzy around it, or you shred it up. Whatever, however you want. Because I don't have sooo many fish in one tank, I actually break it in half and then press it against the glass. Definitely cheaper than my LFS, and delivered to my house! Can't go wrong

Good product
This is a good product. The cube blocks are small and they're not as easy to break up as other Hikari products (I have small fish). However, it is indeed a good product that holds up for a long time. If my fish were larger and strictly carnivores I would think it would go very well as a standard in their diet. As it is, it is supplement which I recommend for omnivorous fish. For my own uses I say 3/5 but as a product I lies more toward 4/5.

Took a bit of time to arrive but the quality of the food is excellent - my fish love it

Well, I think my fishes should be the one to write this review, and if they were, I'm pretty sure they would have written how much they love this product, and just how fast they finish the food. I'm feeding hikari blood worms, hikari tubiflex, and hikari shrimps for about 4 weeks now. I keep changing their food. Who likes daal chawal for life??? 😂 Anyway, I'll tell you the result and let that speak for itself. My fish are getting healthier by day and more vibrant in their colors, the food doesn't produce high levels/ spikes of ammonia in water. So, I don't have to stress over feeding time. But it's always a good idea to remove excess food after 10-15 minutes and I do that. The three hikari products together cost me close to Rs. 4500/-, and seems pretty steep. But I'm happy to see my fish happy and healthy. It's totally worth it. P.S. Hikari tubifex is costliest. And my fishes eat those from my hand like spoiled pampered brats. May be they are. 😂

Fish seem to enjoy them, knocking off a star since I’ve heard the packaging of these has a false bottom in it making the package look larger than it is.
