NES Cartridge Coasters

Excellent quality product, my son loves it.

So, today I am reviewing the NES Coasters by Paladone, a fully authorised Nintendo product. It features 8 different coaster designs based on NES classic titles, which are the following; Super Mario Bros 1- 3, Donkey Kong, Metroid, ExciteBike, Duck Hunt and my personal favourite The Legend of Zelda. Taking the shape of an NES cartridge, the front of the coaster designs are great, a very good quality printed finish, but I did notice that the rear print of the coaster was almost quite faded and didn’t have quite the same quality of finish - a very minor gripe. This coaster set is absolutely jam packed full of fun and nostalgia for 80’s or 90’s kids - and would make a perfect little gift for that age group - I know that I would most definitely appreciate this sort of gift. All in all, a great little product that would be a welcome addition to anyone’s coffee table, studio or office space. I waited to do this review to see how durable they would be with multiple uses and much to my surprise, they've shown no sign of wearing at all. Lastly, you definitely can't argue with the price (at the time of review) at a little under £6.00, I would even go as far to say that this product is a bargain.

A good gift, look really nice and a good price

I picked up these Retro drinks coasters because I have a few other vintage items on my desk and wanted something that would fit that 90s aesthetic. They are very affordable and look really cool, definitely bringing back happy memories! They absolutely fit the retro look I was going for and do a decent job of protecting my furniture from hot drinks. They certainly offer good value for money for the price. The only thing to know before buying is that they are just made of thick cardboard, so they aren't the strongest material and you'll need to be careful not to get them too wet or rough with them.

Not sure how these will perform over time as they appear to be thick card with a surface coating, but as a stocking filler for a self confessed nerd they are ideal.

The design is fun and nostalgic, but the coasters are made of cardboard, which really limits their durability. They look good at first, but they won’t hold up well to regular use or moisture over time. Fine as a novelty or decoration, but not ideal if you’re looking for long-lasting drink coasters.

Great for a gamer

My son really likes these coasters they are great for putting his drinks on around the house. Good thickness not too thin or thick. Very retro.

J'ai connu les cartouches NES dans mon enfance. Je ne suis pas nostalgique, mais ça me fait quand même quelque chose. Ils sont en carton, mais c'est de la qualité. Plus petit que les vraies cartouches mais autrement très similaire. Les jeux représentés sont: Metroid, Donkey Kong, Duck Hunt, Excite Bike, Super Mario Bros, Zelda, 2x Super Mario Bros 3

Love these, probably won't last forever but might consider getting an extra set. Great accessory for the game room :)
