Mineral Fusion Pressed Powder Foundation, Olive 2

Finally a mineral cosmetics brand that understands the concept of cool olive skin. Olive 2 matches me perfectly and it doesn't look cakey. It provides sheer coverage though.

I love this makeup. First time trying it. It goes on smoothly and I ordered a bit darker shade for some light contouring. I love how it's good healthy ingredients and I feel better about putting it on my face. Also definitely cheaper here than in store.

This powder is ok. It offers good color coverage. It does accentuate flaws on my face such as wrinkles and pores. Probably great for someone younger. Of course having a very moisturized face is a must under this powder. As you can see from my photo, olive 2 is VERY light. The model they show wearing olive 2 is not accurate. I would compare olive 4 to a similar shade of cliniques stay honey, or probably darker. You can see I have cliniques stay golden pictured in comparison and it is significantly darker than olive 2. I am considering getting olive 3 for my skin tone but I am debating if I like this powder enough to try a 3rd shade. I hope my photo of the shade comparisons helps someone pick the right color.

These pictures are all in three different lighting spots. Shade olive 2. I have no primer on and I applied with a tight, flat top kabuki brush. Great buildable, matte finish foundation product when you are in a rush. Very forgiving even without primer! I am a VERY green-skinned girl with a true light olive complexion. So I hope I can help some fellow olive skinned people! The reviews on target and Amazon are correct. Olive 2 seems to be almost just as light as Olive 1 now. Because it’s approaching summertime, I would like to go up one shade, but the Olive 3 swatch looks WAY too orangey. I am afraid to try it. I absolutely love that the ingredients are EWG certified. High quality and accurate with the olive undertone! Thank you mineral fusion! Please make more olive shades!!!

This review is mostly to help people trying to get the right color. I tried this because the "Neutral " was too pink for my skin, which has olive undertones. Neutral 2 was the right shade - meaning the right amount of lightness, but Olive 2 is a little two dark and the color is really intense- like very yellow. I wish that the lightness was the same across the different tones - so that 1,2,3 etc. meant the same. I also wish the color was more subtle. I tried Olive 1 and oddly, it was darker than the Olive 2. In terms of makeup quality - it goes on at a medium coverage, and wears really well. It spreads pretty evenly - though more easily over a layer of translucent powder. Generally, I am happy with the products I get from Mineral Fusion brand. It is nice to be able to get good quality make up that is cruelty free and vegan.
