I ordered this and initially received it damaged (the first picture). I contacted Trailer Valet and it took A LOT of back and forth ( a lot! ) with customer service to get this resolved. After a bit they shipped me another item that arrived in perfect condition (second picture). UPS can be a little "rough" sometimes- not Trailer Valets fault but still frustrating. After I received the new undamaged package, I installed it on my boat trailer: a 2025 Tracker 175 directly opposite of the factory jack and it works perfectly to help me move the boat up my concrete driveway that has a slight grade into its parking spot on the side of the house. The brake function holds well so I can stop and make sure I am lined up with the gate to move it the rest of the way into its parking space. I prefer the hand crank to the drill attachment for my use but the drill works pretty well if your are moving straight but the crank is easier to steer and control if you are turning - use drill on a low speed and the wheel doesn't spin. Yes, I can back a trailer and have done it several times but there is not much room to maneuver the truck and to many things to back into, the gate is only 5 inches wider than the boat trailer so using this to slowly put it into its spot without hitting anything is much easier and safer than using the truck, there just is not enough room to easily maneuver it in place. I am happy with the XL, it works great for what I need it for. My trailer is a single axle, only about 2500 lbs and the upgrade is pretty slight I could almost push it without the T.V. but having the brake to keep it from rolling forward while I stop and check my position makes this a lot easier - I DO recommend it but have reasonable expectations it requires some effort and I dont think it'd be good for steep inclines. I chose this one because it is easily removable from the trailer while not in use and I need the brake because of the slight grade on the driveway; it is a great solution for the cost.

It works good on flat and slight grades. I would not attempt to go up or down any inclines. It also does not work well in gravel or on wet ground. Pretty much just dry flat pavement is what it is limited to. It does work great on proper surfaces and lets me park my 22 foot camper anywhere.

Biggest piece of junk. Only works on clean garage flooring, don’t know anyone who would need this for that 😂. Can’t do pavers, or sandy concrete.

Recently moved into a new home that has a slight pitch to the garage floor. In my last house I could easily back up into the garage, unhook and push the trailer around on the flat surface. My16ft boat isn't overly heavy but as a 40+ female and with the floor pitch I was concerned the trailer would go into the back of my car or into a garage door if I wasn't able to stop it from rolling. I purchased the Trailer Valet 5x and now I back in, mount the valet, unhitch and can maneuver around my tight garage for optimal space without fear. The hand break works perfectly to allow me to pause and check clearance. It does take a little practice to get the right angle to fit properly but it does work well. I'm not taking it out of the garage with the valet, or driving with the valet on as I'm not unhitching anywhere pitched except the garage. It's easy enough to pop off for the day, and pop back on when I'm home. I did purchase the optional drill attachment which for me, was unnecessary. With only small distance/space, fine movements it's really not needed. This has made it possible for me to keep the boat at home without needing a second person every time. Thank you!

Unit started to slip teeths on the sprocket-pulling my boat.contacted customer support ,after back and forth, they started helping me with needed parts.I highly appreciate it.

Per my husband, this trailer valet unit was very easy to set up and use. He used this to move our ~2800# 2015 retro Shasta trailer in a tight spot that wouldn’t allow for our Jeep Wrangler or a rental pick up to adequately maneuver. He also tried using a come-along winch puller but that also didn’t work. This trailer valet unit did EXACTLY what he wanted VERY QUICKLY and by himself, nonetheless!! You can see in the photos the tight space that we had to work within and he was able to move it within an INCH of our house the maximize the space. I was sooo impressed as were several neighbors!!

I bought this for a previous trailer. It moved it pretty easily. My new trailer is smaller, so it moves even easier. It moves around on "hard" surfaces with no problem. However, I have to put boards down on my hard packed decomposed granite so the dolly wheels do not dig in. Buyers should keep in mind that any soft surface-pebbles, dg, grass etc. will cause the wheels to spin or dig in. Best to keep some boards around for soft surfaces. No fault of the product.
